Was anyone else incredibly bored during this episode? RLM is usually either absolute deep fried gold, with the VERY rare "oh god no, I'd rather die" episode (Patton Oswalt and Macaulay Culkin episodes come to mind).

It's rare that I'm just kinda restless watching an episode but this BOTW was pretty uninspiring in a way that the channel just usually isn't.

I'm glad I am not the only one that thought so. Problem seemed to be that no one was miserable so there wasn't much in the way of extra content. Sure they hated the first and last, but it's nothing like a Farber film or they felt disgust watching any of them.

Goddamn, they are taking on Hawk the Slayer.
Funny enough, aside from the Rifftrax version, it's British cult classic so much so that there is a sequel done in comic book style with an introduction by Simon Peg of all people.

And it was also referenced in Spaced:

As for the BOTW, apparently Mike is in the credits despite not being in this....

I was thinking the same. At first I thought maybe I'd seen the Hawk Riff too many times on Rifftrax twitch and skipped it usually, but they really didn't add anything. 'It's boring and Palance hams it up' is about it. They used to have BOTWs I could rewatch a few times years ago, but this one is down the memory hole fast. Nothing to it. They seem to do 4 or so BOTW's a year now and maybe 1 is worth much.

And sersiously, get rid of Jack. If it had been Mike instead of himself, endlessly better. Tim's so-so, I can tolerate him. Mike, Jay, Rich, and Tim are a good combo. But Jack just wrecks it.

I just be damaged. I thought it was fine. Not great, but also not boring. Maybe I was in a certain mood. The kid with the x ray glasses can die in a pit of fire though.

You know, their review of Evil Dead (reboot) was almost exactly 10 years from their recent Evil Dead Rise review, April 16th 2013 vs. April 30th 2023. Looking back really makes me miss how Half in the Bag used to be as it has lost it's unique identity through that time with this being a good example. I really miss when it was more than just a pretty straight-forward review show. I am usually just waiting for Best of the Worst uploads these days since Half in the Bag is so much less than it once was. At least they occasionally put in the effort of some extra stuff, but the intro and outro continuity about Plinkett stuff is a tragedy to have gone.

Speaking of which, it's been two months since a Best of the Worst! I hope the next one isn't a spotlight.
oh yeah, HiTB has gotten pretty boring. to me the best thing to do is bring back the intro and outro skits and edit the review down to 20 minutes or so per movie. i honestly cant remember the last half in the bag that i watch all the way through in one sitting. in fact the last couple i still haven't even finished.
Money Plane is a great movie. What budget it had probably went to Kelsey Grammer, but it was well directed, looked good, and had decent action scenes. Their hate for it was cartoonish

I actually rewatched it not long ago, and I loved it. To me, it's one of the best movies of that year (alongside I'm Thinking of Ending Things, The Gentlemen and the first Sonic movie).

That’s why I wish it was on BOTW. They’ve been way nicer to way worse. Plus, it needed some Rich Evans Laugh seasoning.
what are you guys smoking to think money plane is good? i mean, it wasnt the most terrible movie i have ever seen, but good? nope. though i do agree it would have been a much better BoTW episode.

me too. wasnt terrible but wasnt their best. but compared to some of the newer BoTW it was pretty good. i watched it twice already, first time was actively paying attention, the other as background noise.

how is hawk the slayer a cult classic? im usually into cult classic movie,s but man this movie is just so dull and boring. like i dont get the angle of what what make it a cult classic, there just isnt anything there, jut a boring plain low budget fantasy movie. cant even say it is a cult classic in the sense that it is so bad that it is good. it is low budget, but none of it is so low budget it is funny. it has bad acting and dialogue, but none of it is so bad acting that it is good. and outside of the bad factor there isnt anything about it gimmick wise or uniquew that would stand out to draw a cult viewing of it. so i am baffled how this would be a cult classic.

And was 87 years old, so can we knock it off with the curse nonsense. Old people die, even ones who aren't as old as Rich Evans.
Joe Biden goes into the doctor.
The doctor says, "Mr. President, you only have 8 more months to live."
"What is it, Doctor?" asked Joe. "Cancer? Stroke?"
The doctor replies, "Nah it's what we call life expectancy."

Semi-seriously though, I've heard of EMTs listing on their paperwork: "TMY" as cause of death. Too Many Years.

I think he'll have four more months. ...to live.

Mars Attacks video is out, they’re slightly tweaking the format to Re:Visit instead of Re:View for movies that they didn’t like in the past and are checking back in on, as opposed to movies they love and want to share.

I liked Mars Attacks a lot as a kid. Alongside the likes of Master of Disguise, the live-action Scooby Doo movie and the live-action Mario movie, it was one of these movies I kept watching as a kid when it used to air on HBO.

Oh, and the aliens doing "ACK! ACK! ACK!" here obviously inspired DSP's laugh.

I'll admit that Hawk the Slayer is kind of clunky, but it tries so hard to be a Spaghetti Western take on fantasy, that you can't help but be interested. I think the long, talky scenes and clumsy character interaction are definitely a British thing. I saw a lot of that same sort of thing in Krull, which also has a reputation of being dull in parts.
