Is anyone else hoping for a top 10 Ghost Adventures epsiodes video? Nothing compares to Mike making fun of that show.

Zach Baggins is hilarious but he needs to watch more paranormal shows, I've been watching Skinwalker Ranch recently and it seems right up his alley. There is a guy who took up the moniker 'Dragon' who is 'security' and half the time he's seen toting around a shotgun inappropriately.

From remarks Mike has made in the past I don't think he's a huge fan of DS9, at least in comparison to TNG and Voyager. It's the brainlet opinion But I'd take them talking about any good ol' trek over all the trash nutrek or nuwars content being pumped out recently.
He was probably like me and only saw that "Allamaraine" episode in the first season, and noped out of the show. I didn't watch the real show until the Dominion showed up. But if 'Move Along Home' was your first impression, you probably don't remember DS9 fondly. I think it's why I ended up preferring Babylon 5 for so long.

A movie featuring parallel universes and Mike even mentions Cromagnons but not a single Sliders reference!

Move Along Home is nothing compared to "Code of Honor". It's a miracle TNG ever made it to season 2.

Were they lesbians? I just thought they were supposed to be close friends.
They were very clearly in a relationship.

Pretty much agree with the take here. Good movie, about 20 minutes too long, disappears up its own butthole towards the end (I'm surprised they didn't mention the false ending, a handful of people in my theater got up to leave when it happened), really moving and well-acted, a breath of fresh air for movies in general.

EEAIO was some of the most obnoxious shit I've ever seen, cannot stand that fucking banana chink sob story "muh overbearing parents" bullshit. Somebody should've bashed the daughters dyke skull in, what a horrible cunt of a character. Also the fights weren't good, the one fucking thing I watched this chink propaganda for and it fucking sucked. Dropping acid didn't even save that shitshow. People that liked it should be imprisoned in forced labour camps for the rest of their lives.

Is A24 really an "indie" studio anymore?
yes? almost all of their films are low budget, low gross one relative hit doesn't make them close to a major. FUNimation releases and grosses as much as that studio. most indie studios of the last decade mainly do a shotgun approach, a dozen releases and one hits with audiences and makes up for the rest of them. between that and tax breaks most of them stay afloat.

as for EEAIO, while i went in relatively blind, i think being addicted to my SNES growing up meant i understood a lot of the thoughts and ideas behind a lot of the bullshit in the film. the false ending is a near rip off of what happens in donkey kong country, the way to jump universes reminds me of how you can reprogram games on the fly to help with speedruns (like in Super Mario World) or obtaining rare items in RPGs. even the plots of the universes are the sort of cheese you'd run into with 3rd party games for the console.

the martial arts caught me off guard, considering the nature of the film, but for an indie that and the special effects were amazing. To put it in perspective, the amount of people they had doing special effects for the film was also the same number of people that RLM has to help make videos, so in a way they really could have made a film as good as EEAIO instead of space cop, which doesn't get the amount of shit it should. even by wisconsin indie standards its dogshit.

Also i think the best reason it resonates with audiences is the gender swap. originally the movie was supposed to have a male lead (like jackie chan) so by gender swaping the two parents the dynamic changes a lot. You never see a film with a doting husband who actually saves the day and isn't mocked or belittled. and you never see woman characters treated with the same scorn put upon the female leads here. That could also explain the lesbian plot later on, being an artifact of when it was about an asian male, even the gay daughter while being gay is a big deal it could have just as easily been about a son dating a white woman. the fact that the lesbian daughter's girlfriend is practically non-existent makes it feel like part of an older script, because most films in this era wouldn't have such a role be given such few lines.

basically the character dynamics are refreshing and in a half century of single moms and feminism and step-dads probably a lot more relatable than what they originally wanted in the script.

sob story "muh overbearing parents" bullshit
It'll take ten more years to happen, but the "tiger mom" trope will become passe and considered racist. It was annoying back in the gilmore girls, and it's dumb to this day that no writer can come up with a better test of character for an asian protag/sidetag than "muh strict mommy"

Its a trope if written by a white person. When written by an asian person, its their "lived experience."

RLM are very cynical, smug, and condescending. Just look at how they keep mocking people who want them to review The Batman when they could just move on at this point. We get it, you don't review capeshit, then actually review the movie you're talking (EEAIO) instead of going on unrelated tangents about Star Trek and Star Wars. They just want to go on about how creatively bankrupt Hollywood is, but when a original movie comes out that has people talking, what do they do? They wait until the movie is on VOD before they talk about while they go watch Doctor Strange and Ghostbusters: Afterlife in theaters. Yet they wonder why Hollywood continues being creatively bankrupt as movies like Doctor Strange and Ghostbusters make money in theaters while original movies don't.
What original movie are we talking about in this situation?

Basically any movie that isn't based on anything. The only times RLM review an original movies is when it's in a round-up episode or it's on VOD. RLM just doesn't want to go to theaters so much so that they would rather review episodes of a TV show. The one time they actually review an original movie people give a damn about, Mike would rather just rant about Carrie Fisher saying It's about Family again than actually talk about the movie in question.

They've been talking about how shit the movie experience is since the early days of HitB.

They literally just reviewed an original movie. Outside of the recent glut of Picard, Re:View has been entirely focused on original films.

The family joke is a fucking joke, they mention it a few times in a couple of one hour reviews. It's so short that I don't even remember it in the EEAIO review.

my question is....how dogshit are the theaters in Milwaukee? i'm from an area of similar size and could very easily find sparsely populated theaters all the fucking time, and unlike me, these guys don't have jobs. So how the fuck is it such a hassle?

Unless these dipshits exclusively go on weekend nights opening weekend you should have no problem finding an empty theater. literally just show up before 4pm or even after 11pm and you could sit there naked for how few people will be in these showings.

i understand if you're a 9to5er but theaters are what you make of them, and i know for a fact EEAIO wasn't the ghettoplex' favorite movie to yell at, these faggots whine and they barely make more than one video a month since patreon.

Same guy made the best of Batman & Robin commentary. Downloading this now before the bots take it down.
