Check out the BOTW where they talk about Stone Cold. I agree with them, it's one of the best and most entertaining movie's I've seen. I'm like you, love me some 80s/90s actioners.
Those are also my favrorites for Rifftrax, including cheapo sci-fi/fantasies. It probably took a long time for the licensing rights for a lot of those to come down which is why there weren't all that many on MST3K during its first run.

Other 80s/90s action movies discussed on BOTW since 2020 that I also saw and can recommend (entertaining for any reason):

American Rickshaw
Avenging Force
Back In Action
Barbarians
Cyborg
Demons At The Door
LA Wars
New York Ninja
Nightmare At Noon
Unmasking The Idol

Are you fucking kidding me?
Nope. I do think it's a so bad it's good movie. I laughed quite a bit even though I had seen the BOTW beforehand.

It's been a blast.

I imagine that this video was filmed before Raimi's Reddit AmA. They're under this impression that Raimi immediately gets tired of making superhero movies as if he didn't just say that he wants to direct Batman. I'm sure if they kept giving him money and stopped fucking with his production, Raimi would make a ton of superhero schlock which he loves.

Nobody twisted his arm to make Darkman.

@Starman John sorry for the snipe
If I could have bet money on them turning their nose up at the “nice outfit” comment from Spider-man, I would have. I’m actually a bit more put off by them couching their criticism in the delivery. God, they want to mask-off virtue signal SO hard these days, but they’re terrified of doing anything that might risk their bottom line. Ironically, that will probably be what drives their viewers away in the end. Toothless Reddit edginess is all they have anymore.

Thing is, Rich isn't really wrong about Maguire's ability to deliver Spidey quips as basically nonexistent. I think his distaste for this movie comes from a pretty genuine place. Raimi's Spider-Man was beloved and a huge hit because it is a fun superhero movie, but it managed to nail Spidey's supporting characters while completely blowing both the lead and his most famous love interest.

Rich's take on the og Peter Parker seems off, though. He was a mousy, dorky dude before he became Spider-Man and I don't get where Rich is coming from with that criticism.

Eh, I can see it Toby McGuire is a geeky kind of that ugly-cute (source: I am a woman) but I can understand why Rami chose him, he's cute but also kind of pathetic. (although that may be because I was like one when the first film came out and Toby is **MY** Spiderman.)

Yeah, he's combining Peter's inner dialogue with his outward personality. The suit and mask lets his true thoughts out, that was always the point. He was bitter and cynical but kept it mostly to himself.

He also then follows it up that Iron Lad "bloo, bloo don't die Mr. Stark," is a good Ultimate Spider-Man. If quips is all it takes to be a good Peter Parker than Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield is the best cause he's venomous when in the suit but in reality that movie leaves a lot to be desired.

Rich’s take on Spider-Man lets me know to NEVER trust his recommendations or tastes.

He was so off base he wasn’t even in the field with that one.

And the “Did your husband make that for you” burn remains one of the best lines in comic movie history for how much it shucked coloring inside the lines, and focused on what a burn is meant to do.
Spider-Man trolls his enemies into acting like retards by getting under their skin. Speaking like a Golden Girl possessed you is what Deadpool does, yet every hero “quips” like that now.

It’s pretty transparent what his issue with that line was, and trying to cope that it’s actually a compliment…LMAO.

(Tobey is the best live action Peter Parker, I’ll die on that hill)

The delivery was bad.

I don't know about that. Back in ye olde year 2000, you could still call people gay to insult them.

Tobey MacGuire reminds me of Jack Packard with hair.
subtitles suck but they're the best option considering the absolute state of dubbing. even if you don't watch anime you can understand everything wrong with anime dubs by watching one simple video
Yeah, pretty much. After decades of pontificating on dubs vs subs, here's my take:

1) If you enjoy the dub, that's awesome. Cool, no problem. But don't you dare try to claim the dub is superior somehow. Fuck off with that agitative nonsense.

2) If you watched the dub, you forfeit the right to criticize the show. Because you didn't watch the genuine article. How can you say something is bad when it's filtered through some localizer and D-tier actors? I see so many YouTube hacks like Bennet watch bad dubs and then trash the material. These clowns ruin the reputation of some really interesting and sometimes really good stuff.
