While also trying to shift blame away from themselves because TRoS is indefensible. I'm not even sure TRoS fits the definition of a movie.JJ Trek is currently featuring a half dozen shows, most of which are entering their second or third season. It is at it's most successful point, whether we like it or not.
They have mentioned Bay maybe five times in 15 years.
I can't imagine being this retarded. RLM is "bedazzled" by JJ yet releases an hour-long review trashing his final Star Wars movie.
Best of the Worst has always been the shining light for me, and is often what I use as background noise if I want some. It's often referred to as a friendship simulator and that's a fairly apt description I suppose.Ive avoided Red letter Media for a long time, due to the impression they were a bunch of hacks, but you know what? Im really enjoying their best of the worst MST3k style sitdowns of shitty movies.
Now their actual reviews? if it isnt a shitty movie they can be hit or miss.
So they are 50/50 I guess. Besides somehow being influential enough to indirectly fuck up star wars .
Yes, wow, thank you for realising they aren't enamoured of JJ.While also trying to shift blame away from themselves because TRoS is indefensible. I'm not even sure TRoS fits the definition of a movie.
The only unsuccessful JJ Trek release was Beyond. Yes, the thing closest to Old Trek was the one that failed.JJ Trek is also not successful, both at RLM's reckoning of hating all Kurtzman-Trek and fans leaving to watch the Orville. Merchandising for JJ Trek died before it really began. If it isn't classic Trek merch, it doesn't sell. Trek and Wars are in the pumping out content phase. It doesn't matter if it's good or has potential to be good, pump as much nostalgia bait as possible. Diversity and Inclusion the cast for ESG score. This is all content to trick investors, not garner audiences.
What are your thoughts on the Plinkett reviews? Do you agree with Mike's analysis of the Prequels? Think he's way too nitpicky? Or are they just comedy videos where an elderly serial killer throws cheap Star wars toys around his creepy basement and yells at the hooker tied up in the corner to be quiet.Ive avoided Red letter Media for a long time, due to the impression they were a bunch of hacks, but you know what? I think anybody who shits on the prequels has a stick up their asses, but to be honest I didn't watch the reviews yet. Im not fond of the comedy bits ive seen so far, it lacks the true autistic charm of say... Spoony or the channel awesome guys. What are your thoughts on the Plinkett reviews? Sounds like they wouldn't be up your alley than if your favorite show of there's is BOTW and you're not fond of the comedy bits. The Plinkett reviews are mostly a one man show where Mike plays Mr. Plinkett and gives his opinions on why a movie fails to live up to the older stuff in the series, the most famous being the Phantom Menace review where Mike compares the film to the original Star Wars movies, explains why he thinks the film fails on its own merits and shits on it harder than a Bantha in a Mos Eisley street. Tons of black humor jokes in them like Plinkett throwing around human bones and mentioning the "urban market" stealing his TV. It lacks the back and forth banter between the guys and is Mike doing a deep dive analysis into a film as a senile, murderous, old man character. Sort of like Bum Reviews where Doug gave his opinions on a film as a character but with more intelligent analysis and better written jokes.I think anybody who shits on the prequels has a stick up their asses, but to be honest I didn't watch the reviews yet. There was respect, sure, but I can see how someone would say they weren't really "friends" in the actual series.I have no idea where they're getting that from
In TNG, Jean-Luc wasn't friends with his crew, he tolerated them. The Jean-Luc from the TNG movies was different, he was closer to Data. Kurtzman Trek Picard is closer to the TNG movies than the actual TNG show. The only thing I can remember RLM saying that was wrong about Trek was that "Picard and Data were never friends." I have no idea where they're getting that from and now I'm hearing that phrase repeated all over the internet.
Kirk was never a womanizer, he was a bookish A+ student in the academy whose first love was to the Enterprise. William Shatner was a notorious womanizer who literally chased woman around set.JJ Trek characters and TOS characters
You guys can say that, but any time Data had a violin recital, a play, or he debuted a stupid painting, Picard always attended. He didn't have to do that.In TNG, Jean-Luc wasn't friends with his crew, he tolerated them.
I bet your co-workers must love you.You guys can say that, but any time Data had a violin recital, a play, or he debuted a stupid painting, Picard always attended. He didn't have to do that.
Yeah, Star Trek via osmosis has a lot of misconceptions like that. Like "Beam me up, Scotty." Although I can understand why people think Kirk is a womanizer when he's usually the one paired up to the love interest of that episode. That, and Kirk turns into William Shatner over time. It kinda fucks over Pine Kirk though because he has to be a horny idiot except in Beyond, where he actually did grow as a character.Kirk was never a womanizer, he was a bookish A+ student in the academy whose first love was to the Enterprise. William Shatner was a notorious womanizer who literally chased woman around set.
I think Modern Trek writers including JJ never watched TOS and just assume William Shatner is Kirk. Which is how we end up with Kirk banging green-hair cat ladies two-at-a-time and recklessly throwing the Enterprise into danger on a whim, completely against character.
All Good Things wouldn't have ended with Picard finally, finally joining the weekly poker game if it weren't a stereotype for the entire series that he kept his relationships with his crew mostly professional (aside from Crusher, obviously). The only thing I can remember RLM saying that was wrong about Trek was that "Picard and Data were never friends." I have no idea where they're getting that from and now I'm hearing that phrase repeated all over the internet.
One of the jokes was Picard and the others being annoyed with Datas shit IIRC. At least I know they were annoyed with his poetry. You guys can say that, but any time Data had a violin recital, a play, or he debuted a stupid painting, Picard always attended. He didn't have to do that.
It's a burden, but mine to bear, and I won't stop until I drive away all the reddit faggots from this threadI really wanna know how many more post Internet War Criminal has to make before we stop getting these "they only review xyz" posts.
Even then, it's almost always the woman that advances on Kirk. Modern writers don't understand why that kind of natural leader would be so attractive.Although I can understand why people think Kirk is a womanizer when he's usually the one paired up to the love interest of that episode.
