The "realistic," grounded approach with RDR2 would've been a great contrast to the lawlessness and imbalance of GTA Online. But R* T2 cannot help themselves to monetize their games now.

It has potential of being a decent cowboy MMO with role playing aspects such as hunting or bounties. But the grind encourages spending with little reward.
 
I did like the fact you could just hit a place on your map then you press a button and it becomes cinematic. You don't have to travel manually.

They should have implemented this in AC, Tsushima, etc

Much more than that. They nerfed how much gold you can get which is required to use to purchase expansion pass. Their new battle pass is complete and utter trash, nothing of value in it cosmetically and they added shit that affects gameplay to it that you have to use gold to unlock that part of the pass. They even added furry buckles to the pass which - as we know - is something the 1890's were all about. The expansion for Bounty Hunter is more of the same shit, but they made bolas 4 times more expensive and just as useless.

Whatever B team they put on RDO they need to fire and hire Pajeets. Even fucking Pajeets could design better shit than this.

Surprise, surprise, the new Online update broke something in the single-player mode, though I have no idea fucking how. Now, no matter what happens all the gang members will think you're cold.

Meaning, regardless of what you're wearing they're always gonna be telling you to put on something warmer, and that you're going to freeze to death if you don't. You can be wearing your winter coat at Shady Belle, and they're still gonna ask if you're cold. This happens no matter where the camp is, nor what the actual in-game temperature is, nor what Arthur's own temperature is. Everyone's gonna act like you're strutting around buck-naked in the middle of the Grizzlies. Even Micah, and Charles will comment on it, and I didn't even think the former had a line for that.

There is no way to fix it, and yes, it even happens when you play in the epilogue. Uncle, Abigail, and Jack will all comment on how cold you must be, despite it being 70 degrees out, and you're wearing your duster.

rockstar should really jut focus on single player stuff for red dead 2. the online wont be as popular as gta v's

Holy shit, this patch fucked up even more than that apparently. So far, I can confirm the following:
  • The above mention clothing comment glitch
  • The music randomly cutting out during fast travel
  • Practically everyone within a 20ft radius trying to greet you whenever you're playing games in camp (and yes, they will comment on you being cold, too)
  • Doors randomly closing on you will you're still in the doorframe, and causing you to get stuck. It is possible to get out of them. You just have to fidget around, and shit, and try to open the door again
  • Notifications saying you have new journal entries when you don't
  • General animal AI being weird like being able to walk right up to deer, foxes, turkeys, etc. and having them not run away (I was literally able to punch a deer. So far, it's been the highlight of my week)
  • Trail scents, and tracks randomly appearing with no animals nearby
  • Rider-less horses spawning in the middle of empty roads with no NPCs by them (funnily enough, this was a common glitch in the first game)
  • General lighting glitches like sunbeams appearing to be emanating from within the ground
  • Not being able to eat the camp stew even though more than 24 in-game hours have passed
  • Molly, and Dutch no longer fighting in camp every morning (yes, I'm considering this a glitch because it happened literally every time I woke up in camp prior to the patch)
  • Gang members following you back to your quarters, and just standing there (this happened to me with Charles, and I was honestly fucking terrified)
  • Some horse stats are incorrect. I got a liver chestnut morgan from a rival gang member, and its speed was maxed out by one more level than it's supposed to be
  • Gang members walking up to get stew before just walking away with an empty plate
  • Lenny literally glitching out of his pajamas while leaning against a hitching post
  • Gang members interrupting each other while they're talking about their backstories, and shit. An example would be Javier talking about how much Mexico sucked before Lenny randomly cuts him off, and starts talking about his dad, and shit
  • Stables saying you can't afford a horse even though you have enough money
  • Menus saying you can craft items with these materials even though you can't like saying you can craft items with a poor/good pelt
  • Carcasses, and pelts disappearing of the back of your horse after fast traveling. They still appear in your inventory, and you can still sell them (This about gave me a heart attack when it happened because I had just killed the Legendary Wolf and thought I was locked out trinkets, and clothing because of it)
And I'm pretty sure that's not even all of the issues this patch has caused.

It's bad enough that they've largely abandoned the campaign again, but having an Online patch fuck it up is ridiculous. Same shit happened with GTA V years ago, so I don't know what the hell happened to the QA staff for this to be a regular occurrence. If they're going to ignore their campaigns post launch, they should at least make the effort to not release faulty patches like these.

Like I said. Fucking Pajeets can do better than their current B Team.
 
Played the game again last night, and holy shit, even more things are broken. In addition to everything from the above post still being an issue, the following is a rough summary of all the bullshit I encountered while playing the current PS4 version of the game.

  • Rival gang attacks and ambushes spawning in areas of the game they're not supposed to be able to. I had the O'Driscolls ambush me in Murfree Brood country where they're not supposed to be.
  • I'm not sure about this one, but I was camping by that small, secret graveyard near the Kamassa River, and had that cutscene where that crazy lady from Butcher's Creek comes by and rambles like a tweaked out methhead before thankfully fucking off. She's normally supposed to only spawn near Butcher's Creek and/or only in Murfree Brood country, but I might've been close enough to the latter for it to trigger.
  • I returned to camp only to find no one there. The horses were there, and Cain was there, and was doing his normal routine of hanging around Pearson's table, the fires were lit, and nothing seemed to be stolen, or messed with, but none of the gang members were there. Even Jack was gone. This fucking unnerved me so much I left the camp, and slept somewhere else that night. When I went back to camp in the morning everyone was had returned, and acting like nothing had happened.
  • Using the map in camp, I tried to fast-travel to Valentine, and Arthur literally rode his horse out of his tent. He did not saddle up his horse, or unhitch it from its post. He literally fucking road it out of his tent. No one said anything, and yes, the music did cut out while the fast-travel cutscenes were playing.
  • I went to the Valentine's stables, and I was missing a horse. It was, thank god, not one of my favorites like my War Horse, or Brindle Thoroughbred, but rather the last horse that I had purchased which was the Chocolate Roan Warm Dutchblood which I had planned to sell anyways. I'm definitely not storing my early Black Arabian, though.
  • Using this as an excuse to test something, and because I needed to head up there anyways, I went up to Lake Isabella to get the Mammoth point-of-interest, the piece of petrified cobalt wood, and the White Arabian. I went up there, switched into my winter clothes, and that is when things truly went to hell.
  • Animals were spawning, and despawning like crazy. I had gotten the Mammoth, and when I went down to the lake for the White Arabian and piece of wood, wolves spawned, and then immediately despawned when I turned back to get a better shot at them. Big Horn Sheep were appearing one second before vanishing the next, and same thing with elk, and rabbits. I got the wood, and then the wolves spawned again right next to me, and nearly fucking killed me. I shot one of them with my pistol, no blood appearing when I did so, and it despawned while the other one ran away for a bit before despawning as well.
  • I got back on my horse, and saw that a fucking bull moose was stuck in the ice of the lake. No, I don't mean it was frozen. I mean it was clipping in and out of the ice. It was trying to stand up out of it, but it kept spazzing out and glitching back into the ice. I shot with an arrow, and it flopped out of the ice before getting up, and running away. I shot it again, and died, and then wolves spawned again before despawning when I rushed past them.
  • I got my moose pelt, and went back on my horse to try and find the White Arabian who still hadn't appeared yet. Spoiler alert: it never fucking did. Wolves did again, repeatedly, and I was eventually actually able to kill some without them despawning. I skinned them, and decided to cut my losses, and just fast-travel out of here to Emerald Ranch so I could sell the pelts to the Trapper nearby. That was when I encountered the thing that pissed me off the most.
  • I made it to Emerald Ranch only to be unable to change out of my winter clothes. I had my regular outfit stored on my horse, and it was still there according to my inventory, but all attempts to switch into it failed. Arthur would do the animation that he was changing clothes, but his outfit always remained the same. Nothing fixed this, and I just decided to get to the Trapper as fast as I could so Arthur didn't fucking die of heatstroke.
  • When I got there, I couldn't sell to the Trapper. The only options I had were Rob, Greet, and Antagonize. I tried making sure that I was unarmed while approaching him, but the options never changed. I saved the game, and reloaded it to see if that fixed anything, and it did. Meaning, I was able to sell to the Trapper, but was still unable to get out of my winter clothes.
  • I fucked off back to camp, but not before killing a deer to donate for provisions. No blood got on my outfit, something which usually is always supposed to happen. I got back to camp, and thankfully everyone was there, and yes, they still thought I was cold despite being decked out like I was expecting a blizzard. I gave the deer to Pearson, and went to my tent to see if I could change into my my regular outfit over there.
  • It was gone.Meaning, the saved outfit was gone. All the parts of it were there, but the saved outfit itself was not. I had to manually rebuild the outfit which took longer than it should've because the game kept swapping me back into my winter clothes for some fucking reason. I was eventually able to make, and wear it again, and it was after all that bullshit that I finally saved, and shut off the game.
What the actual fuck is going on? Is RDR2 trying to compete with Cyberpunk 2077 for buggiest game of 2020? This shit has never happened before ever, and it seems like over this last month the game has been slowly imploding in on itself.

Forgive me for double-posting, but you can (at least in the PS4 version of the game) now officially fast-travel back to camp!

What the location will be labelled coincides with where place the main camp currently is. and/or what chapter you are on. So if the camp is located at Clemens Point, the fast-travel selection list will have that name on it, and so on and so forth.

Despite the game being a general mess as of late, and the fact that this very simple, and obvious ability should've been there from the get-go, I'm very happy about this actually being in the game now.

Not that I know of.

The game is still very much playable. A lot of the issues I was experiencing a couple months ago are completely gone. The only ones left that are still noticeable are the cold glitch, and the occasional low audio that sometimes completely cuts out while you're fast-traveling.

RDR2 is still an excellent game that is more than worth playing. The still game looks and plays amazingly, and sheer level of detail Rockstar put into it is just astounding. The issue is that since the game usually runs so well, that it just makes what few glitches are left stand out even more.
 
I want to say that those issues will be ironed out with the inevitable XSX/PS5 versions.

However, Rockstar has been a bit shaky when it comes to patching bugs that don't affect their microtransactions, so...
