And I was invited into a Moonshine shack. Most fun I've had in RDO yet.
Lmao bitch slapping your drunk friends was hilarious, something wholesome about taking over the band with your buds too.

They shouldve delved a bit more into roleplayey stuff like this, as much as its still a western shooter, some of my best times in Online was just chilling with the homies while hunting or just riding around
I wish they fix the stables. I'm tired of the soft locks.
That's STILL happening?!

Evidently. I thought it was just me. Sad thing is that you can only buy hat and stables directly from the stable itself. How long has this been happening?

It was a random invite. Moonshine enhances your cooldown cores. I did not know that.

Its been a couple of months now since ive actively played, so the stable softlock's been there a while

Have you done the Moonshiner content yet? It ended up being some of my favorite stuff to do in there, especially with friends.

Just the collector's role and bounty hunter. I am still saving my Gold for that role. Do you need friends to take full advantage?

Not at all, Moonshiner can be done completely solo. It's a business and has a couple of story missions attached too, pretty neat stuff, i liked it.

Sadly, like in Land of Opportunity, it's heavily implied at the end of the Moonshiner story that there would be more to come, but you probably know how that went by now. At least Moonshiners's story did wrap up nicely

What's the price of entry outside of the gold? Do you need to buy supplies a la GTA Online? Bounty Hunter is good with gold, Collector for money.

It is a little bit expensive, you gotta make some sells as a Trader, then you'll get the chance to get your own place for 25 gold bars i believe. Doesnt include the gold you'll need to upgrade your bar, but all of that is optional, really

How do you feel about mature women with heavily scarred faces btw?

Are you taking about Maggie? Scars are scars. How does the trader role work?
Yeah, That's Maggie aight, your main contact for moonshiner shit, kinda like her though.

Trader is your GTA Online business, you gather up materials by hunting, earn goods by doing missions for them or straight up buying them, and every hour or so you'll be able to sell them by riding them over to whatever place. If there's Trader bonuses going on, you can make sales for up to $1000+ with it, but keep in mind that you gotta upgrade your sales cart before you can hit those numbers

Since the griefing isnt as bad on RDO as in GTAO, you rarely get any problem if you chose to do long distance sales, but even if you do, just load up your rifle with explosive shells.
Oh, you might get enemy spawns coming after you, but you must've noticed by now the AI in this game aint nearly as punishing as in GTAO, theyre perfectly manageable even when solo

In short, Trader is the money role, and little else. Remember there used to be dedicated grinding groups for Trader back then, it's a good earner, but personally, it's my least liked role.

How and where do you get different types of ammo? I've never seen anything about explosive ammo. Also, there's certain bows you can get that are smaller. I can never find them.

Talking about that, there's one butcher whose face is covered in red. Creeps me out.

Sadly, like in Land of Opportunity,
I hope Jessica Clark gets her time in the sun again, for her husband I mean.

For fire and explosive ammo you can get the pamphlets for em at any Fence, not sure if they're level locked though. As for the bows, i know you can get the Improved Bow at the Gunsmith, and to get the skins you gotta go see Gus the hunter guy, need to get the right materials for those i believe

I hope so too, im a bit optimistic that if the RDR1 remake rumors turn out true, *maybe* Rockstar will pop back to try and promote it in RDO or something. Wouldn't mind if we got an RDO2, either

So, speaking of Javier and how to handle him in the RDR1 remake, I had an idea recently. Have the trip down to Mexico have a bit of a Heart of Darkness aspect to it. Have Javier start talking about how Dutch was too kind to dissenters and traitors like Arthur and John, and him boast about the rewards he's gotten from being loyal to Mexico's el jefe. Have him turn his back on his revolutionary ideals and insist Mexico needs a strong ruler to keep its dissenting, disloyal people in line, and say that was the lesson he and the other peasants never learned. Wouldn't be the first Mexican to do a heel turn like that.
Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna said:
Say to Mr. Poinsett that it is very true that I threw up my cap for liberty with great ardor, and perfect sincerity, but very soon found the folly of it. A hundred years to come my people will not be fit for liberty. They do not know what it is, unenlightened as they are, and under the influence of Catholic clergy, a despotism is a proper government for them, but there is no reason why it should not be a wise and virtuous one.

I love the Day of Reckoning free roam event. You capture bounties that are each worth a set amount of points. You cannot directly attack players. Progress counts towards your Bounty Hunter role.

Sadie feels like R* was trying to make a badass female character, but they dropped the ball on it,
I think Sadie was fine but the fact she gets to walk off at the end is a total blunder on a storytelling front. Her whole shtick is that she is chasing death, there is nothing left of her, she is a ghost more than a person, she is the prime example of the game's running theme regarding vengeance not really fixing your problems and only really causing more.

She should have died on the mountain when she was stabbed. Her having a mostly pointless and violent death would have been poignant, but they pussed out. For some reason having a pussy means she gets to ignore the game's major themes.

I think her surviving is actually the point of her character, and fits the major themes of the game perfectly.

She wants what she can't have, and her continuing to live on in misery is just more evidence to prove that the outlaw life leads to people like her existing. No matter how noble you try to portray it, criminality always eventually does lead to victims, revenge is a fool's game, and even if you get it, it won't make you feel better. You won't get back what you lost.

For Sadie, death is not redemption. Death would be the easy way out. She has to live with what she's done, and what's she turned into, and that's a far more fitting fate narratively wise.

Furthermore, I don't think her being a woman is the reason she survived at all. I think it's the reason I stated above, and/or R* is planning on using her for RDR3 if that ever actually happens.
