The big problem I had with the end of RDR1 is Jack was the one truly innocent character in the RDR games and he ends up committing a cold blooded murder out of revenge. Everyone else in the RDR or GTA games are complete shitbags at worst or people who do awful things to survive (like hook or steal) or somewhere in between. Uncle, and John die to give his family a chance to get away and Jack just throws it away. It makes sense, but it feels like such a downer ending.
Its not a Western unless someone is killing someone else in the name of revenge.

Tragedy sells

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, RDO is offering 10x $$$ for turkey sales to butchers under December 1st.

I cannot wait for the snow to populate the map next month.

Oh, free canned goods too?! Damn, that will be handy for the trade award and Moonshiner roles.

The backwards compatible version of Red Dead Redemption is now unavailable for individual purchase on the marketplace. It is, however, available with the Xbox Series S|X port of Red Dead Redemption. At this time, the port is half off from its $50 MSRP. Some players are reporting that they are unable to qualify for their promised upgrade.

RDR2 was better for geographical variety and being My Pretty Cowboy simulator, but it also had woke aids in it. John Marston is a far more compelling character, as is pretty much any side character, than the RDR2 caste. The dialogue was very theatrical in a good way.
Personally my biggest issues with RDR2 is the unnecessary retarded realism elements that add nothing to the game and honestly just become annoying after awhile.
Maybe this is just a me thing but I vastly preferred the more arcadey and dare I say video game like feel of the first game.

I hate having to change my cool outfit or be forced to play with a stat debuff. I hate having to constantly remember to eat food and drink tonics and shit to keep my stats up as I also coincidentally hate having to feed and brush my horse every 5 fucking minutes or the horse gets a stat debuff. The first game didn't have this garbage. And don't even get me started on the unnecessarily long animations at times for doing jack fucking shit.
That's what burns my ass about RDR2 the most, all of the unnecessary realism bullshit piles up to become very fucking annoying.

I'd rather just boot up RDR1 than deal with this shit.

EDIT: Oh yeah! How did I completely forget about the fucking annoying gun maintenance system too? Better remember to wipe off your guns every 5 seconds or you can't hit jack fucking shit!

I've never finished the original Red Dead Redemption or II. I never got around to it. Westerns aren't normally my thing.

I've found a friend who unfortunately has the patience to play RDO with me, and my God, I can't imagine actually trying to enjoy it. The economy is infamously fucked up on so many levels, and to get any of the jobs to actually make money to buy decent weapons and gear... you need to make 15 Gold Bars! It's like Rockstar designed a game to keep only the most niggercattle fans in and keep anyone who has the indecency to try it out as a newcomer out. Thankfully my friend has been playing RDO for a while, and if he hadn't let me join him on trading or bounty missions, I would have given up on trying to get my own bounty license.

Also it's disgusting how empty they made the RDR1 sections in both the singleplayer and online. There is nothing. Nothing to do, see, or enjoy other than maybe getting a bit of nostalgia, which worked when RDR1 was still console only, but now that I can play it anytime I want on PC, there's not a damn thing keeping me there. Lemoyne is best state by the way.

Yeah RDO is very disappointing and mid. Which sucks because it has potential to be fun but sadly Rockstar neglected it for their star child, Grand Theft Auto Online.

Rockstar doesn't know how to develop Online games. They just know how to monetize and sell digital items to retards.

It just didn't work well for a western setting.
They literally promised us new content that they never bothered adding like I believe they mentioned a photographer role and even some kind of Marshal role, but yeah. GTAO was making them way more money so they didn't see the point in developing RDO further because it wasn't making them the cash they wanted.

There's plenty of things they could have added that they never bothered to, like actual heists, bank robberies, train robberies, ect.

I just finished RDR1 as much as I'm going to. Spoiler: they kill you anyway. What the fuck is that shit? The game is fun, but that is just depressing.

Part of the charm of RDR1.
John never escaped his fate. The game was rigged from the start joining Dutch's gang.

He could have lived if he fled to Mexico or maybe just out of Edgar Ross's jurisdiction as he does violate US law at the time by deploying the army against John so he might just be acting on his own accord.

I guess I don't understand why I spent so much time trying to build up my character when they could have just killed him before the game even started.

Can't win don't try.
