Funny thing, I got my copy of the R&C collection as an error, I actually ordered a copy of Into the Nexus and they did send me the box of that game, but the disc was the collection one
Where did you order it from?

Are you going to return it or ask for an exchange?

That's a silly error. It could've been worse.

I ordered it last year from a store, when I asked them they said that it was the only ratchet game they had so they most likely bought it from a mom or something, I said fuck it and just kept it as I didnt have a copy of the collection, I ended up just buying ItN digitally

I really want Rift Apart but I can't justify getting a PS5 when I only want like one or two games from it.
I'm pretty much in the same boat. A PS5 is just out of my budget for the immediate future. On the plus side that gives time for reviews of the game to come in, and from that I can judge if it is actually worth getting. Feeling really hopeful about that though, the trailers so far look sick.

First of all, great name! @Emperor Percival Tachyon

Secondly, Tachyon was not my favorite villain. I don't know, there wasn't much to him. But I did like how he was original and not a rehash of Dr. Nefarious.

God I must have played Going Commando 15+ times growing up. It was one of the few games I had at the time and every so often I would just spend a weekend replaying it on the same Challenge Mode file. Had maxed out bolts and all that shit... Bought a VGA to RCA video adapter, and an RCA sound to headphone jack adapter just to play it on a modern screen. Could probably emulate it with my decent PC but there's just something about having the Ps2 controller in hand, the same stock dualshock I had when I was a kid, and hearing the thin PS2 disc spin up. Gonna be a sad day when that old Ps2 slim finally bites it.

Only one I never touched in the franchise was Full Frontal Assault. Is it worth going back to? I recall getting into a beta release but the servers were fucky, or my connection at the time was poor idk, so I gave up on it.

While I have one, I do agree that the game roster seems a little lacking. I am personally interested in 4 titles, one of which is on 4. I really want Ratchet, Sackboy’s Big Adventure, The Pathless, and Destruction All-Stars.

Ratchet and Sackboy are childhood icons for me, and both games look like excellent 3D platformers. I should also say that Astro is a great game in this vain, and it does well with showing off every PS5 feature.

The Pathless looks like a BOTW styled open world title, so it caught my interest.

Destruction All-Stars is basically Fortnite x Twisted Metal. The art style is bland, but god do I want a Twisted feeling title to play on PS5 if Sony is unwilling to just do Twisted.

Astro's Playroom is shockingly good. It may very well be the best pack-in game ever made and I'm not exaggerating there.

Yeah, it's a trend that started as far back as Going Commando. Even the portable spinoff games separated them. Now that I think about it, the only game that didn't have them get separated was Tools of Destruction, at least until the very end anyway.
Am I the only one that doesn't care for the Clank sections?

Actually, let me rephrase that. Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal had the best Clank gameplay.

I don't remember much from Tools of Destruction's Clank.

Since the first game actually. I guess since they had two characters, they felt like they have to give both characters their own sections. I kinda prefer going solo Ratchet instead of Clank though since that can make for more tense platforming sections without Clank as your safetynet.

I could take them or leave them. They're not particularly interesting since Clank is more limited in terms of combat, but I never started hating the game when they came up.

Ratchet 1 had that up to Metropolis. And that level where Clank was struck by lightning.

Ratchet 2 extended that solo Ratchet dynamic a bit longer than 1. Ratchet is quite agile.

Ratchet 3 had one level without Clank with the Holovid Studios.

Deadlocked really put Ratchet to the test without Clank. He can hold his own quite well. Watch your jumps and use your gadgets.

Giant Clank is my favorite.

Size Matters had ONE great concept with solo Ratchet. Shrinking himself to go inside of Clank.

They also tried to diversify Clank gameplay. Flying Clank in space, Lemmings clone, mini arena battles and normal Clank gameplay.

I played Size Matters but I don't remember a thing about that game besides enemies feeling like damage sponges and the creepy girl.

I'm glad Ratchet & Clank is still relevant on PlayStation. Especially that Jak & Daxter and Sly Cooper being left to the waste side.
I'm glad one of those PS2 era platformer franchises is still going as well, but personally I wish it was either Jak or Sly that was still going, while I like R&C a lot, of the those 3 it's my least favorite.

I guess it's just as well in the case of Jak because we couldn't have sexy elf women anymore and overall I'd hate to see what Neal Druckmann would do with Jak and Daxter of all things lol.

But I do wish Sly Cooper was still going, I replayed the first game again last year and I forgot how much I miss that series.

Overall I wish more from the PS2 era in general was still going, correct me if I'm wrong but R&C and God of War are the only PS2 era Sony series to still be going, right?
