Huh. Guess R&C 2016 failed more than I thought, if they went back to the old canon.

That said, given the """quality""" of writers they had the first time around, I have absolutely no faith that they won't butcher both Ratchet's and the new lombax character.
The game was successful; the MOVIE flopped. So we will see more of Ratchet in video game form. Best thing for him.

I, hmm. This is an interesting turn. I never thought I'd see asshole Ratchet again, but here we are.
Better writing than the movie.

I was surprised to hear him say "panties."

He has a snarky approach, kinda like Sonic in Colors or Boom. It's fine.

For sure. That wasn't a criticism, by the way. I actually loved Ratchet in R&C 1, asshole and all, because Clank was the perfect foil for him. The later games toned it down, but they never completely eliminated the slightly self-centered and gadget-happy part of Ratchet.

R&C 2016 missed the dynamics of their relationship completely, while this short brings it back. Made me smile, it did.

(Did everyone recognise all the gadgets they cameo'ed? UYA seemed to have the most representatives here.)

Clank in R&C2 was more stern compared to Ratchet. Increasingly frustrated with Dr. Fitzwidget.

"That was our SHIP!" I've always heard that as a subtle "shit."

The game looks fantastic. My issue right now is deciding which edition to get. I really want the extras of the digital deluxe, but I love physical games. I really hate that there is no physical edition of the bundle and those items. I really want the stuff, but I am disappointed by the fact that it is all digital. Having a physical art book and ost would be nice.

If Sackboy could get that, why not R&C?

Is it me or does Clank sound deeper in this game?

I don't understand no physical art book either. That's the enticement of special editions.

I don't have a PS5, but I may buy a copy. I like R&C that much.

I feel like there should have been a physical special edition that costs more. I get companies are trying to force the market to go digital as to cut costs and retailers getting money, but physical collectors are still a profitable market, so just going 20 more or so would still entice.

I really want physical items as then I could have 2 R&C art books, and a nice soundtrack to pop in. Plus it looks good on a shelf. It is frustrating to know LBP recently got all that in physical a year prior, yet R&C, the big PS5 title, lacks that sort of treatment. No hate to LBP though, those titles were great.

As for Clank’s voice, yeah I can see it.

Also, how long before this game gets bashed as GamingBrit and his horde of tards complain about capitalist critiques being absent in this title? There are already GamingBrit stans trying to soil on the game as it is not like the PS2 titles.

It would certainly be worth the extra price since you ACTUALLY own something. Especially with PS3/PS4/PS5 having an internal ticking time bomb with downloads. Once that battery runs out, you can't access your downloads.

I wish they would've brought back Angela from Going Commando. She was a confirmed Lombax. Rivet by comparison appears to be a plushie. Angela could've been developed further.

I think Insomniac has long since moved away from the PS2 games, so I doubt Angela will return. The PS3 titles were really good though, and I would love to see a continuation on them.

IRC, they are still part of the same canon. One of the bosses in Full Frontal Assault was from Going Commando.

I would like a remaster/port of the Future trilogy on PS4/5. That's a huge chunk of lore missing.

I know they are the same canon, but the Future games more or less soft-rebooted the series, hence the whole last Lombax thing. They mention her in a Crack in Time, but it is a joke about how the team F’d up the canon with the new story since she was a Lombax, or was she?!!!

There's a IG video talking about that. I'll have to find it and embed it.

The "perfect sequel" took 10 months to be made.
On Going Commando, this video highlights what I disliked about the second game. Too many gadgets. Two for flying, two for hacking, two for platforming. There's so much to do, you wonder why it's there.

They streamlined the fat from GC to UYA.

I would say I'm more impressed with Going Commando, while I had the most fun with UYA. 10 months to make Going Commando with all the content it has is amazing.

The humor is the best part about Going Commando. Everything is more animated.

Is it wrong to say I prefer the PS3 titles over 2. Crack in Time is genuinely a master piece and has great design all throughout. I recently started playing the classics on PS2, and a lot of them just feel unpolished. Ratchet 1 is great, but I played 3 recently and it just feels so..eh...

The levels were way to short and linear and the combat challenges just were not fun.
