It reminds me of the Going Commando city level a bit too.
It does looks visually appealing. It would be better if they went back to the Tools of Destruction character design.

What made you think of that?
They did that for the Future saga; it amplified their friendship and relationship as they venture the galaxy.
I don't see them doing that again.
I feel like for the PS4, they should send off with a Future trilogy release. Yes, I sound like a broken record. I want it.

It happens in the new trailer. It seems like Clank is gonna be with that female character for most of it.

And yeah, that was my worry when I saw her, that Sony was going to make her the “new, better Ratchet”.

If they wanted to expand on the Lombax race, bring back Angela Cross. She was already a good, underrated female character in the R&C saga.
I remember one other female character accompanying Ratchet in the Future saga, I think her name was Talywn. I don't remember her as much.

Talwyn was cool, but after the Future Trilogy, she, much like Angela and Sasha, was put to the sidelines. Not that that's an issue, cause she's the one who's been with Ratchet the longest, and after that Trilogy she didn't really need to get involved with much of anything, cause the threats were over, at least until Into the Nexus. Angela was more of a friend, and Sasha was only a thing with Ratchet until the end of Deadlocked, and after that, I think through Radio Signals in Tools of Destruction, you can figure out due to her royalty; she couldn't exactly stick around with Ratchet, so they had to part ways. Either way; I look forward to this new game, and Rule 63 Ratchet is pretty cute, honestly. I eagerly await the degeneracy that will befall her in the cooming days.

Confirmed by Insomniac themselves, Talwyn and Ratchet are boyfriend and girlfriend.
Sasha, that's another female character for Ratchet & Clank I forgot. Her dad was the Galactic President. They reminded me of lions. The Galactic President gives me Bill Clinton vibes. I think it's the voice.

Yeah, considering when 3 was made, they were probably going for that. I was kinda implying the two were in a relationship with the whole "been with Ratchet the longest" bit, but indeed, Insomniac confirmed it. That must of pissed off a couple of autists who only want Furry on Furry romance; no humanoids allowed type stuff.

New game looks awesome, I've not played any of them since the third game, but I will definitely come back for this.

Insomniac confirmed in an interview that Angela is a member of a related species, but not a Lombax. That's why the R&C Future plot can actually make sense since there isn't supposed to be any other Lombaxes left besides Ratchet.

Insomniac is good with their lore I suppose. Social media and interviews make it easier.
Still, I would love to see Angela Cross again.

It's not like that female characters can't work in Ratchet & Clank. They just need to have character and fleshed out.

All I hope is that she doesn't fuck this one up too badly. Spider-Man at least had some decent writing but it was also backed up with other competent writers who knew Spider-Man well, including Dan Slott (dunno how everyone feels about him but at least he has some history with the character).

That's what they said about Ratchet & Clank 2016, in reference to the prior entry. I don't know. $CURRENT_YEAR has never failed to disappoint me yet in terms of actual good writing.
