Yea Orxon Clank segment is definitely an annoying slog, feels like a wall you run into each playthrough. Don't think the Clank parts in 2 or 3 are as bad.

Thank God that speedrunners found a skip to bypass that infamous Orxon section.
TLDW: exploit camera collision with level geometry and frame perfect animation to propel you very high where the Infobot is.
I'm unsure if this skip works on the PS2 version.
