I'd like this to be ported to Steam, most of the games are interesting and I never even played Kameo. Microsoft should also put Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon up there while they're at it.

This may be a mild OT, but I don't know where else to put this. I was reading about Perfect Dark on TCRF and I noticed this:

These strings were unused in the final game, but since we are apparently at the date of Dr. Caroll's defection I wanted to compare today's world with what we see of Perfect Dark's:
1. Autonomous AI/Drones
Nobody outside the MIC knows the true capabilities of drones. But it's "common knowledge" that if the communications with a drone are knocked out, the drone can fly autonomously, at least for a while. The idea of drones patrolling the streets with perfect IFF (Chicago: Stealth) is still fanciful, but not implausible for a work of fiction IMO.
2. Personality AI
With the advent of chat models like ChatGPT and GPT4chan, it's safe to say that mankind isn't yet at the point where personality AI can make critical decisions, but is just taking it's first - faltering - steps in this field.
3. Robot Vacuums
The first Roomba was released approximately two years after PD's release. I think it's safe to say they never really caught on. AFAIK even megacorps still hire humans to clean their offices.
4. Megacorps
I won't dwell on this too much due to its inflammatory nature. There doesn't seem to be any kind of law and order in PD's world. Aside from FBI and CIA agents hanging around (Chicago: Stealth again) megacorps can just wage open warfare on each other (Carrington Villa: Hostage One, Carrington Institute: Defense). We're not at that point yet, but then again 🌈

What do you guys think? Is there anything you think PD got right or wrong?

One final note for kiwisisters born in 1984: Congratulations! You are the same age as "old woman" Cassandra De Vries:

I don't know where else to post it so sorry for the necro
i'm not sure how many kiwis are that involved with the banjo community but every year during june they always hold out false hope that maybe banjo will totally be back this time guys ignoring how it hasn't happened before and people over at rare have made it pretty clear their not interested in making another banjo game and people just take insider/leaker info and obscure details as absolute word and the reactions are as expected to the point the subreddit mod talked about having to post links to suicide hotlines apparently

It's a flawed game, but I enjoyed Grabbed By The Ghoulies. Sure it's not perfect, but I had fun with it. The game also has some good music and a good art style.

I also have a personal reason for enjoying it.

The day I got my copy, I went with my grandma to take our dog to the vet. I had a great day that day spending time with the two of them. A few weeks after that, our dog was hit by a car and died. Every time I play GbtG, it reminds me of that great day I spent with my grandma and dog.
Man the fucking feels. Just reread this and oh my god. Need to hug my dog.

I wish I was good at vehicle building because I'm shit at it. I recall Nuts and Bolts has pre made vehicles (?)

Blast Corps was a surprise favorite of mine. Something about driving around in construction vehicles causing mayhem was a fun time. Damn those controls.

Rare may not have any plans on bringing the series back, but thankfully there are fans out there making projects like this:

Banjo-Kazooie: Mumbomania for Dreams on PS4/PS5. It may not be an official entry in the series, but it at least looks fun.

I was never able to make one myself, but on the subject of Nuts and Bolts vehicles, I always enjoyed the videos of Transformers style mechs.

The most creative thing I managed to build in the game was a UFO that had a little caw that could be attached to it underneath, like it was being abducted.

Blast Corps was a surprise favorite of mine. Something about driving around in construction vehicles causing mayhem was a fun time. Damn those controls.
A direct sequel or similar style game made with modern tech would be great.
