Shit, it looks like Tumblr has just become even more of a hugbox.

Actually, this is pretty useful.
Now I can block all the annoying otherkin shits that reblog my stuff and tag it as kin.
And it only took them eight years to implement a feature usually available on other sites from the get go. If there's one thing I still enjoy about tumblr it's ragging on the staff for taking so long to get anything done.

I know that when people say things like that, they're referring to the (stupidly named) Spoon theory, but whenever I see tumblr users saying "I don't have the spoons to do this" it sounds like a euphemistic way of saying "I don't have the balls to do this".

Hey, at least props to tumblr for making their block function actually work. I don't know when they changed its name to the more appropriate "ignore", but it was explicitly called "blocking" when I used tumblr.
Wonder if you can block anonymous messages sent from people who are logged in. Then again, I guess they could just log out.

IIRC you can actually turn off anon ask in your blog options, which just completely keeps people from anonymously asking stuff at all. Not quite the same but similar.

i mean, im really iffy on the spoon theory being used for people with mental illness, as it was originally designed for the chronically physically ill around physical energy, fatigue and pain level.

with mental illnesses, a lot of times you'll feel like you don't have the energy for something necessary that you don't enjoy (i.e. cleaning, chores, homework, organization, bathing, work) but you'll find you do have the energy for things you do enjoy and give you immediate pleasure (blogging, going online, drawing, possibly seeing friends/socializing, buying things, etc). its just about learning to force yourself to harness the energy to do something you've avoiding that you really dont want to do, rather than actual physical ability.
