Ugh, the first post I saw depicted inaccurate comparisons of the groups in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

The Water Tribes are based in Inuit cultures.

The Earth Kingdom is based on a wide variety of cultures & peoples, depending on the region.

The Fire Nation was based on Imperial Japan (with aesthetics and fighting styles influenced by China).

The Air Nomads are based on Tibetan monks with Buddhist teachings. Aang's former mentor was even named after the 14th Dalai Lama.

At least TRY for accuracy, damn.

/end sperging
I knew that, but I have to ask how that blogger decided the Earth people were African, the Waters were Asian, and so on. Because it clearly isn't from the show.

Remember, all world history is POC being friends until the evil white people came. Also, they missed the point of the Last Airbender for notes.
It's like they don't think non-Europeans are human enough to grow greedy and wage war against their neighbors.

There are a LOT of people who basically think Native American society was a complete utopia.

Of course, each tribe is different, leading to remarkable diversity.
http://www.ncai.org/about-tribes/indians_101.pdf

According to this, "There are 562 federally recognized Indian tribes, bands, nations, pueblos, rancherias, communities and Native villages in the United States. Approximately 229 of these are located in Alaska; the rest are located in 33 other states."

This does not even cover the tribes in Canada and Mexico.

In a historical context, some tribes got along with each other just fine, but others had a fierce rivalry spanning generations.

I wish I knew how all this craziness regarding "social justice" came about.

It's quite... problematic!

Batman is a depressive genderfluid foxkin with some wolf-traits, the Joker is his headmate.
A lot of SJW types on Tumblr really seem to hate Batman. A lot of them think he's "ableist" for oppressing all those poor, innocent mentally ill people in Arkham Asylum. It doesn't help that he's a rich, white, cis, heterosexual male.

Also, not to go off-topic, but interestingly enough, the classic Batman story "The Dark Knight Returns" has a character, Dr. Wolper, who was a sort of proto-SJW who works at Arkham Asylum and shares that view of Batman. He thinks the Joker is an innocent victim being oppressed by Batman, so he brings him on a talk show to give his side of the story, and the inevitable happens:

Funny that you posted this clip. The doc that tried to sympathize with the Joker made the argument that Batman was the crazy one. It happened in The Killing Joke, and A Serious House on a Serious Earth, too. Then the Arkham Asylum shows that this is one of Batman's greatest fears.

Also, sociopaths don't have hero complexes. Sociopaths do not care about other people. ...Batman pushes himself to the absolute limit to save whoever he can.

Hell, he even tries to see the remaining good in Two-Face & Mr. Freeze in certain works, and the latter touched upon attempts at redemption.

Another funny thing, I don't think I've ever seen a superhero's origin story & primary motive questioned as much as Batman. The way I see it, it's like this:

"I don't want other people to suffer the way I did. That's why I will do whatever I can to sabotage the criminal element in Gotham."

Sorry for the fan-girl moment; he's my favorite superhero :P

To be fair, I've heard people who aren't SJWs at all make the case that Batman is basically walking right-wing propaganda. A rich white guy who gets done what needs to be done wham the people whose job that actually is are too corrupt or incompetent to do it.

Then again, he's also the number-one provider of jobs to Gotham City and generally looks after the little guy.

I've read that too. It's an interesting interpretation, but I think it's not entirely accurate. Batman can be a lot of things depending on how he's written; a brooding recluse too distant to form real friendships, a tormented soul haunted by personal trauma, a man clinging to a boyhood idea of justice... that's what can make the different interpretations of him so interesting.

The problem with Tumblr is that is has cultivated an environment in which this kind of discussion isn't encouraged. You either agree with the one oppressed person who said this thing, or you're problematic. If you try to argue otherwise, at worst you're a privileged neckbeard looking to score intellectual brownie points by playing Devil's Advocate (something that SJWs tend to frown upon for obvious reasons), and at worst you're just another pillar holding up the oppressive system. You get to the point where sectioned off parts of Tumblr try not to interact with each other for fear of stirring up an argument, which will inevitably lead to drama.

Shit's whack as fuck.

If that quote that I used to see go around that accused Batman of being a Mary Sue is anything to go by, they also hate Batman because they think he can "get away" with being a Mary Sue because he's a man.

Clearly these people have never read Christian Humbler Reloaded or anything by David Gonterman.

That's funny because Batman is shown to be sympathetic towards the rogues on several occasions. He even stood up against an abusive asylum guard who was tormenting prisoners: Scarecrow and Harley Quinn. I mean, Batman himself is teetering on the edge of insanity...It's only something he's--you know? CONSTANTLY conflicted about which is why he made a personal vow not to kill anyone.

And I'm really stunned that out of all the rogues who deserve some modicum of sympathy that they would choose to defend the fucking joker. The Joker is not intended to be someone you can relate to....at all. They go out of their way to make him less human by keeping his origin so vague and mysterious; he's more of a concept than a character--Ah but whatever, fuck batman and his privileged rich ass.

They're kind of like the Joker: maniacal nihilists who hate everyone for no reason and want to destroy everything.

So, anyone remember that kid who deleted the original Mogai-Archive and started a series of wacky misadventures that ended with the new one getting BOFA'D? I looked in on the kid to see if anything was going on and by god does this kid hate otherkin.

Dear this kid: please delete otherkin next (Pardon my sperging, I just find an actively anti-otherkin SJW refreshing and novel by this point, and that's terrible.)

Yet, they have no sense of humor and mischeif.

Well, despite his name, the Joker is remarkably humorless in many of his incarnations. At least on the screen, you have things like the Cesar Romero joker, who was campy and kooky, or even Jack Nicholson's kind of phoned-in performance as the Joker.

But Heath Ledger's wasn't terribly funny. Nor was the one in Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns that Jack was enacting.

They're unlike the Joker in a lot of ways, though. The Joker is actually a compelling personality, enough of an archetype to survive 75 years of re-tellings (the character was invented in 1940).

ETA: For some reason brain glitched and said Burgess Meredith was the Joker (he was the Penguin).

This kid is going places.

Also, speaking of otherkin, I stumbled across a post pretty much saying that artists have the right to tell people not to tag their art or OCs with #kin. The reblogs are pretty amusing...

There's plenty more where those came from, but as you can see there's over 6,000 notes on this thing already.

There doesn't seem to be nearly enough posts that are like "people who do this shit are fucking dumb, LOL" to my liking.

So, I'm sure some of you have heard about a website called Nshrine, but if you haven't, it was, originally, a site for people to set up memorials for dead loved ones, or for religious people (especially pagans) to pay tribute to their god(s) of choice online. Sounds like a nice website, right? Well, like everything else sane and/or normal, the Tumblr crowd had to get their hands on it. Godkin, divines, and assorted special snowflakes quickly took over the site, setting up shrines for themselves and demanding to be worshiped, naturally taking loads of drama with them. A few days ago, the site's admins finally had enough and shut the site down, leaving the following notice on their front page:

But why are we not always talking about me and how important I am? Don't these webmasters know that it's selfish and ableist of them to take down this thing for people using it in ways they dislike???

Fuck Otherkin.
Edit: I'm in the deitykin tag and it's taking all of my humanly strength not to stab my own eyes out and call them all retards.

btw is there a thread on this demib0y poster?

I may be a little off topic, but what's the state of porn on tumblr? A bang friend recommends it but I'm not bothering unless I can have Stoya and Linda Lovelace in separate tabs.
John Holmes needs an entire window.
