I have been seeing a lot of usernames on tumblr using "autistic" in it with what seems to be absolutely no irony. I don't understand why someone would want to be known with that username everywhere on the Internet

Spoiler: they're not, but they think that putting it in the title will bring more attention to their "Self-diagnosed is better because I know me!" "autism", and thus to their "lack of privilege".

Most idiots using it are usually 16 year old SJWs and aren't even diagnosed. So it's pretty ironic. and this...this is hillarious.:
According to Tumblrinas, usernames like "autistic(neurotypical character name here" is OK. but having a username called "Neurotypical Rainman" IS JUST SO ABLEIST GAWD.
Bullshit! The word comes from the 1998 comedy film Baseketball by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. It's later used in the South park series.
Derp derp derp derp derp derp. Fuck you tumblrtard!
Which is funny, as the brony mentality literally excludes the people who allowed it to happen in the first place and those who supported the product for 30 years.
Again. Womanchild. I don't even get how you'd think that the writers of My Little Pony wouldn't write it for kids? It's still very much a kid show. I think this is just one of those "IT'S SHIT BECAUSE IT'S NOT WHAT IT WAS WHEN I WAS A KID" people.
I hang out in the pony collecting community quite often (I have to, I have like a billion of them) and the vast majority of them are women in their 30's and 40's who have grown up playing with 80's ponies and are now married with children and jobs. It's also one of the friendliest communities I've ever seen, rarely is there conflict (unless a scammer comes along) and they don't jump on people who don't know the name of some random mail order pony from like 1997 only released in Europe.
Also they enjoy ponies in all it's forms, including the new show just because ponies are supposed to be fun and friendly. There also seems to be a big overlap with the breyer horse collecting community and the monster high/ever after high doll collecting commuinity

You would not believe how many people think that this works. It reminds me of people who whined when the Wii came out that Nintendo wasn't catering to "hardcore" gamers anymore when those same "hardcore" gamers didn't buy the GameCube. Like, why should a company support people that don't even buy anything when they can take advantage of an audience that actually does?
