The same thing happened with Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs, where Asians were being told by Americans to be offended for something that was obviously researched and handled with utmost care

Savant spergs are very rare. Most of them just have the dumbest and useless obsessions. Cartoons and video games are common but then you have some people obsessed with Winston Churchill and when you beg for your husband to talk to you he recites a Winston Churchill speech.

If it makes anyone feel better, I know someone who used to identify as 'asexual but gay for 2d girls' and now is a regular bisexual. As long as they're under 18 there's hope for them to grow out of it.
 
Personally I miss the days when people like 'biobugluv' just wrote cringy Mary Sue fanfiction for the rest of us to laugh at, but no, that died with LiveJournal. We're all Snapewives now.
