I think 'Cis-men' and 'Drag Queen' are fairly mutually exclusive terms. I'm not saying dressing in drag is exclusively a gay pastime but it's hardly 100 percent gender normative. I think what they're really saying is "people with the confidence to just be who they are without constantly bitching about oppression are bad because I don't understand what the point of being different is unless I can be a snowflake about it."

Not really for the bolded part. A guy who outside of their "act" considers themselves to be a gay man, penis and all, is a cis gay. Then you have the gay guy who claims they are a woman, both in and out of their "act" and therefore straight when they sleep with other gay guys.

And you define that as gender normative? This sort of proves my point from a long while back that the more you divide and subdivide people the more pointless it becomes.

Because apparently trying to fight TERFs is the opposite of what trans women want now...? I've seen a lot of posts saying "non trans women shouldnt interact with terfs because terfs only target trans women" and things like that.

Because being different means being special, and being special is good!
After all, mommy always told them they were special. They need to live up to their parents’ expectations and be as special as possible. Just throw ALL the letters in there. ADHD, BPD, ASD, OCD, ETC...

Because society isn't afraid of traditional rebellion anymore. Being goth/emo/skater/chav/whatever is just accepted. We live in an age of increasingly supportive, accepting parents who don't lose their shit if they're son comes out as gay at 16. The problem is, teenagers don't want to be accepted by their parents and parents peers. They want to rebel against something and considering you can buy traditional rebellion at Hot Topic now the only choice they have that gets them the embarrassed eye rolling they want is to pretend to have autism or DID or whatever. The whole purpose of pretending to stim is so somebody is daft enough to ask "Dude wtf you doing?" giving them the opportunity to be all huffy teenager. That in and of itself is a phase most kids grow out of if left alone but now of course we have Tumblr where, rather than being forced to conform to acceptable societal limits a teenager can choose his or her limits from a fucking drop down menu and join a community that will actively encourage this behavior. This slippery slope of peer pressure and rebellion leads down to what we see today, a group of idiots so desperate to stand out from the crowd they'll happily pretend to be severely mentally defective in order to do it.

It's always hand flapping and chewing on objects, as well. You don't see nail biting, tearing skin, pacing, running back and forth, making noises, chewing hair, shouting, grinding teeth, picking scabs or pimples, or anything else that wouldn't be considered "cute" or "endearing."

And yeah, looks like almost all of it is hand-flapping/clapping/fiddling, although someone on the second page says they pick at scabs. Not reading any further on than that though, it all looks like the same cuteifying of autism.

It just seems to me like "I have a habit. It must be a stim. Therefore I am autistic". Like people who self-diagnosed themselves because they did things like listen to the same song on repeat, which only autistic people ever do. Everyone wants to be autistic, because then they can complain about those "allistics" and generally be cute and special. Also, they don't have any personality flaws at all- it's all due to their autism/mental illness, so now they can be totally blameless and babied at all times. Being asked to change any bad things about themselves becomes ableist rather than reasonable.

Also lmao at "Can using your phone be a stim??"
