well they aren't wrong tbh..

Maybe they dress up 'cause it's fun. And hey, if you got it, flaunt it.

Tell that bitch to go back to the church bake sale.

I think it's just ugly/fat bitches who've never been able to look hella cute. Sometimes you just want to wear something cute and fun because you like how it looks, and it makes you feel good.

I have to disagree with this. Now, I totally understand that the prevailing belief on here is that being aro/ace isn't real. I get that, I really do, because I try to be skeptical of a lot of tumblr's sexuality/gender bullshit. However, the brain is a weird-ass thing that can cause weird-ass conditions that a person can't really do shit about. Some people are legit terrified of cheese. Some people are sexually attracted to cars. Some people can't remember things they were told just seconds before. Is it really that big a stretch that a person might genuinely not feel sexual attraction, or very little of it? Is it normal? No. But, if you want to be technical and go by numbers, neither is being anything besides heterosexual. We don't question a straight person's lack of attraction to their own gender, or a homosexual person's lack of attraction to the opposite, so why is having neither so implausible?

TL;DR, It's fine to emphasize that it isn't normal, because it isn't. It's fine to mock if someone tries to make it seem like being aro/ace is somehow socially debillitating. But I don't think there's any reason to treat them like subhumans, or insist that such a condition is totally impossible (given the other bizarre shit that can result from faulty wiring in the brain). Are sone of them just claiming it for attention? Probably. But I wouldn't doubt others are deadly serious, and never asked for this shit, and just want people to believe them.

PoC countries were progressive and perfect until the evil white people came along!

FUCKING LOL

These people are champions at just ignoring history. I really doubt the Natives, Aztecs and Incas with their scalping and human sacrifices thingy were bastions of progressive perfection.

And Japan probably invented the concept of seppuku centuries before "white ppl" came over.

I think the main point is that the asexies flipping out the hardest over that post are probably the ones who are basically thirsty incels who have given up and do not want to admit it.

But that's what the post is aggressively implying they are all are in the first place. It reminds me of someone telling a lesbian (a regular one, not a Tumblr Lesbian) that she "just can't get a man". Or hell--being told that you can't get a date when you just plain aren't looking. Maybe some of them ARE incels, but I'm sure others would be more than happy to NOT be aro/ace so they didn't have to put up with this shit. The ones that act like they're on the same level of oppression as a gay man or trans person are full of shit, but I'm sure there are others that just want people to accept them as they are, and leave them alone.

True... but at the same time, watching them get all indignant when they could have just ignored it and moved on is amusing.

I dunno. Tumblr asexuals are pretty entitled and conceited. They act like the world is against them and they have it the worst in the oppression game.

Not tumblr but just as dumb.

Also I don't get this whats the point of this?

Is it that there are more lgbtwhatever jokes then "cis" jokes?
Is it that lgbtwhocares jokes are """"funnier""""?
Also I just realized that lgbtrandomjumbleofletters "humor" is just an evolution of "LAWL SO RANDOM" humor and suddenly everything makes sense.

I very much agree with you that for (real) ace people it is not pleasant being that way.
A significant part of romance/attraction involves feelings of connection. Without those feelings you are left with the impression you are somehow not a part from some web everyone else is in. It is very unsettling at times. Especially during holidays that have a large focus on family and being with others.
It is true that a lot of people in here like to say they do not believe in the disorder. (I firmly believe it is a disorder due to the fact it is literally a malfunction in the brain. Every animal on the planet has a reproductive urge. To not have it would mean the death of a species.) But I think a large part of it is shitposting or attempts to troll.

Regarding Tumblr, I wouldn’t be surprised if none of the people who claim to be ‘ace’ are actually that. Especially the obnoxious ones who say it gives them oppression points. It’s not ‘oppression’ for people to assume you are normal and ask you if you have a significant other or if you are planning on having kids.

I can absolutely believe that there are asexual people out there. What I can't believe that even a majority of those on tumblr who claim to be asexual, are actually asexual. As in, not attracted to either, not interested in any of it.

Mainly because of all the quantifiers to things that people can be while still being asexual. So they can find people attractive, enjoy sex, want sex, be in a relationship, want a relationship, be sexually attracted to people under specific circumstances and still be 100% asexual according to some of these groups.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of these people who considered themselves asexual at first genuinely didn't have any of those feelings, whether because they were young, or they were self-conscious, or scared of a relationship/sex, or on medications that curbed their sex drives (so many of these kids have got to be on antidepressants), or straight-up incels who convinced themselves they didn't want it anyway.

Then they had sex, or fell for someone, or stopped their meds and got their libido back or whatever, but they didn't want to stop calling themselves "asexual" and risk proving right all the people who said "you'll grow out of it". Maybe they'd devoted so much of their time to "activism" about how valid asexuals were and it was just a huge part of their life. So they had to stretch the definition so that they could still be in the club.

Everyone's too scared to say "no, you're not asexual", so they say that sure, everyone is.

Most of the people making attack helicopter jokes are LGBT people themselves who are sick of these brats.

I'd say part of the problem with the aro/aces is that it's been put in with LGBT. If you're gay, it's just because you are that way, and it's not cool to tell a gay person otherwise.
But there are lots of things that can cause someone to be consider themselves ace other than just being that way. Trauma. Being an 11 year old. Anti-depressants or other medications. Being gay and in denial. Perhaps, yes, being an incel. Probably other things. So while I'm perfectly willing to believe aro/aces exist--I just don't think most people who identify as aro/ace were born like that.

Something like that causes a significant disruption in people's lives. You don't do that as a prank. Very poor judgment.
