Not even horror movies are safe from being tumblrized. I hope this person hasn't read the book. That would make this post 1000% more cringy than it already is.

Aliens won't give a shit about what a human says. They just want to anally probe the primitive animal, fuck around with its DNA and zap its brain with vast amounts of insert-type-of-energy here to see what happens.

It's like the scene from the first Independence Day movie where a heap of idiots threw a party on top of a skyscraper to welcome the alien invaders, and went "Oooooh, so pretty!" just before they were annihilated by the giant laser weapon thingie.

It's an awful disorder. From what I understand it's on par with eating disorders in terms of trying to beat the compulsion, but obviously there's a hell of a lot less support and education around because it's not life threatening. It's another example of communities of people who genuinely have a certain disorder and try to support each other, being invaded by brats who can't tell the difference between a really bad habit and a severe compulsion.

It really is a compulsive disorder that takes self-discipline and physical distraction in order to keep it under control. (i.e. fidget toys) It's like an automatic reflexive action that once the person starts they can go into a sort of trance-like state, or I guess you could call it tunnel vision or hyper-fixation. It's gotta be some variant of OCD.

:powerlevel: I'm sorry if I come off as angry, but I really feel bad for men at this point; how can you claim "you can't be sexist towards men" and then try to make every man feel like shit for simply existing? This person seems like so many layers of special.

It's more common in people with OCD, so you're actually right on that. Apparently it's also related to anxiety.

I thought it was also ADHD related since for me the two of them seem to overlap. Once it starts, I'm basically on the astral plane for the next 10 minutes or so.
