It's only been three years since the last Pokemon remake (OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire). It's a bit too soon to release another one, methinks. I don't get why these people are so surprised.

Yeah, they usually do. I think people were just overhyping themselves for a Sinnoh remake, since it's been about a decade since the games came out.

I have a huge soft spot for Sinnoh, but I don't get the uproar about this. This has happened before. The Sinnoh games are still there; why do we need remakes? I like them the way they are. (Maybe I have nostalgia goggles tho)
