how many times have any of you seen scenes in anime where the background changes to something similar to sun rays to show motivation? how many of you know that it’s a direct reference to the rising sun flag. the flag in which the “asian holocaust” was created under. how many times have you actually seen the flag outright in anime?

So... because bad things happened that are vaguely associated with a flag, then any sort of slight allusion to the flag is just as bad?

By this train of logic, the American flag is racist because they allowed slavery once. Therefore, any time a work of fiction shows it, it too is racist.

Why go in the history of Japan and how racist and xenophobic they are? Who didn't know that already? Op is going into detail as if weebs know anything about that country other than what they see in cartoons. There are real reasons to the junk aired on television when you learn enough about it or see the kind of sick people involved. That doesn't mean Miyazaki is gonna stop being a meme.

Anime is trash, but there are more reasons for that other than what op is angry about :U

Everyone at this point knows that Japan is very xenophobic and not the "paradise" weebs claim it is but jeez, it's not that deep fam. Not everything is propaganda.

I follow (for the art they very rarely do) a person who consistently shits on Kantai Collection for being all about Japanese imperialism and war culture or whatever the fuck it is. I have no idea why she's such an extreme AMERICAN PATRIOT that she takes an anime about girls who are boats seriously enough to say that she considers Americans who like the show or the fandom to be disgusting or gross or whatever.

I just find it ridiculous that people think innocuous shit like an animu / browser game about moe warships is apparently "historical revisionism" or something like that. Call me when it's an anime about Japan's behavior in Manchuria or something.

This comes off as kinda hilarious because, if my memory serves me right, Kantai Collection is very popular... in China. Not saying it's the rightest thing to do or whatever, but it's still weirdly funny considering what that person you quoted says...

(Which sounds like exactly the same shit that has already been said about Hetalia for years, but yeah. Same old song.)

To be fair, a lot of creepy neckbeards on social media are super spergy about loving Kantai Collection. I've seen a handful of Neo-Nazis (there seems to be a rise of these types here anyway) vehemently support it. I also read that it influenced and contributed to a slight rise in nationalism in young Japanese dudes when it came out, similar to "meme magic" garbage in the US. I mean, gotta support your waifus IRL, right?

It's understandable that people don't like it, considering references to the Axis Powers and boats used in World War II to fight for the Nazi regime. I really don't think it has anything to do with being an AMERICAN PATRIOT, it's just that war-based anime tends to be Neo-Nazi magnets and that's off-putting for most people. References to tragedies in World War II usually leave a bad taste in people's mouths.

It's really just similar to the Hetalia situation, or Attack on Titan and imperialist ideology stuff the author puts in. Japan just has a tendency to do this, but knowing their political background, it makes sense. I remember a manga called Afghanis-tan got into a lot of heat about how it portrayed 9/11 (right before the author got caught for hoarding CP). So, I guess it's that. Japan is Japan, so the anime it produces will lean towards its ideals. But in the end, it's just cartoons and people get too serious over it (cough BLmatsu crowd cough).

Back on topic, I don't even know what's going on here:

Is it any surprise that there's a big lack of rapefugee content on tumblr?

Man, Kitsch used to be cool and made fun of legitimate neo-Nazis and similar dumbshits and I don't know what happened to them but now they're just as screaming and obnoxious when they call just about anyone with a dissenting opinion a cuck.

Tumblr, hell of a drug, and all that.

Expect a massive tumblr backlash to this recently posted video.

It's like a really depressing episode of "Where Are They Now?"
The series pretty much started to die when he turned Germaine into a fat, pathetic slob who got jizzed-on and humiliated at every opportunity while Foamy was more of a jerk than usual and a hypocrite. The "fun" was watching the creator trying intellectualize it and calling anyone who failed to see his genius as stupid and the reboot he tried to do didn't work.

Some daily Sailor Moon bullshit:

I'm curious what they would say that I don't see Sailor Moon as SUPAH FEMINIST AND LQBTASDERT+ SERIES and that enlighted radical feminist interpretations are plague that began in 2012 or 2013 and fans somehow lived before that.
+ anime Tuxedo Mask is unironically my fave character

And the saddest one:

Lines from actual Sailor Moon japanese musical that sound exactly like tumblr-pandering

That sailorfailured blog author used to be a good fanartist and created nice fan webcomic.
