Wasn't aware making a lesbian character is "tumblr shit" now. Just because the tumblr fanbase is horrid doesn't mean that the act of having a diverse character is automatically tumblr shit.

Are people seriously still up in arms about those cartoons that are ages old? People already know they're racist and offensive; they're products of their times. Companies don't want to associate with that kinda shit anymore anyway 'cuz they know it's wrong. Only Tumblr seems to obsess over it because it was offensive at one point.

Much as I hate to use this phrasing, a lot of those Tumblrites who jumped onto that whole divinity and otherkin bandwagon have also appropriated neopaganism for much of the same reasons. They don't actually worship, they just claim to do so to seem nonconformist and hip; doubly so since they all headcanon gods with social justice bullshit.

Ah, yes. I remember that post. It's even more painfully ironic considering Tracer's reveal. The weird part is that I remember seeing two versions of it. 1) The debate and argument part, or 2) The part that devolved into a clusterfuck of shitposts.

To be fair, for some people who can't play the game, the stupid irrelevant lore is all they have. I know my laptop would shit itself and combust in rage if I even thought about getting OW so the comics/shorts are all I have to enjoy. :oops:

Even so, they're not enjoying the lore/story for the actual storytelling, they're enjoying it for the shallow identity politic shit. Tracer also spent Christmas with Winston as well as her girlfriend, after all, and all the other characters did other cutesy seasonal things (Wilhelm being Santa, Zenyatta making snowballs, etc.), but if you asked Tumblr, literally all that happened was Tracer was revealed as a lesbian. You want to ask them more about the Omnic Crisis they'll probably stare at you blankly.

But, since we're on the subject of stupid shallow otherkin bullshit...
