What he's sayin' is that the people behind Magic, Wizards, were kind of doing "diverse" shit on their own accord anyways, and for once it wasn't too bad and worked in the story. But ever since the two guys in charge of the card game got Tumblr accounts, it's gotten a lot worse when it comes to pandering to SJWs.
Jace is kind of the guy in the center of the plot (yep there is one) right now, and in the canon, he drinks a shitton of coffee, IIRC. I think that's what the latter comment was referencing.
