I would wager that anyone who spends a significant amount of time on tumblr doesn't have all that many close friends and is looking for a scapegoat to pin their unhappiness on.
 
That one fourteen year old SU fan that sperged a while back had her little "I am flipping you off" rant turned into a meme.

Yikes. Tumblrites giving real people gender and sexuality headcanons reminds me of when they used ship real people in same-sex relationships, despite knowing that the people were already in relationships. It gives me a creepy vibe, although I'm not 100% sure why.

The creepy vibe is probably coming from the fact that shippng real life people/having trans headcanons for real life people is incredibly dehumanizing.

a) Don't read fanfic about it and go on your merry way
b) Write a 3,000 word manifesto about how the pairing and its fans are racist, sexist, ableist and probably like bludgeoning baby seals to death.

Sounds like someone isn't aware of how the Ancients Greeks idolized intense male friendships, or the modern concept of the romantic friendship. It's actually more homophobic to not acknowledge the broad spectrum of varying degrees in which two people can be entangled than to class them into black-and-white "they're-dating-or-they're-not" groups.

I'm surprised she hasn't been called out as an acephobe or something. You could call a "bromance" by the countless other sexualities they've got going on there, and it'd be totally fine and she'd probably be all for it. It's not a bromance--it's a demiromantic queerplatonic relationship.
