Who wants to bet that the people making these headcanons are American and have no idea about what Britain in the 90's was really like or the Hermione Granger is one of the most upper-middle-class, home counties name ever.
And it's not been posted yet but as someone who went to a British school in the 90's I get similarly annoyed about any LBGT headcanons, especially when they use the word 'queer'
 
Didn't JK Rowling have a big say in who the actors for the films were? If she intended Hermione to be black, surely she would have cast a black girl.

In all honesty, I always saw Hermione as a Jewish kid who tanned easily. People are picking and choosing quotes, such as how frizzy her hair is and one quote where it was along the lines of "Hermione looking very brown" (aka, she probably went to the Med with her rich parents and got a sweet tan). It's like people who started yelling that Harry Potter was an Indian kid - no evidence but their own imagination.
 
This isn't on Tumblr, but it very well sums up Tumblr's beliefs about gender/sexuality. (Unfortunately, I believe this person is being at least semi-serious...)

While its shitty that happened do these people not realise the risks of sharing ANYTHING like that? Honestly.
