they're not bad smells but they're not neutral to you
like if someone works in a spice shop they will smell like spices, if they live very near a forest they will smell like pines, if they're fishermen they smell like the sea etcetera
it doesn't mean these people don't use soap but havin contact daily for hours with certain things will leave the smell on the skin

I dealt with someone like this before. The way they acted, you'd think the 50's killed their dog or some shit. When I pointed out that the 50's was the height of the Civil Rights movement, she kind of self-destructed.

Like...do they not get that there's more to a decade than a type of dessert and segregation? The dresses, the cars, retrofuturism, the early beginnings of sci-fi and exploitation cinema, the music, giving little kids all kinds of dangerous shit and calling it "toys"... It was a legit interesting time period, and they need to chill the fuck out about it.
