A lot of fandoms on tumblr don't care or respect canon. They'll cling to anything remotely progressive like the pronoun thing.

Oh they'll respect canon.. but only as long as it's part of their special special snowflake representation and drives their OTPs. It's totally okay to ignore it if a character is cis, heterosexual, white or of a 'white passing' culture, or asexual (and I mean really asexual, not tumblr demi-poly-andro-greysexual).

And even being actually trans or normal gay/bi is treated as being bad lately. People trying to claim gay men are oppressing women for not fucking them, that trans men are traitors who want male privilege, and that bisexuality is somehow transphobic despite SJWs' own internal logic, among other things. The last point is especially funny, when you know that a lot of SJWs treat trans men and women as if they are not men and women. They insist someone cannot be bisexual and also attracted to trans people and insisting instead that that refers to pansexuality, treating trans people as a third gender/third category, despite their own rhetoric about how one is one's transitioned gender.
Naturally, that becomes fucking hilarious, because anyone who isn't making shit up for attention/brownie points is seen as being horrible traitors. It's the same shit as with third wave feminism or actual communism, this idea of "you must believe us if you are a minority or else you are brainwashed by the big bad whatever." Different terms and focuses, such as "internalized oppression" or "false consciousness," but it boils down to the same idea: If you disagree with us, you are either actively malicious (if not part of the group they're supposed to champion) or you must be too stupid and completely brainwashed by the conspiracy we claim exists to oppress you if you disagree (if part of a group they're supposed to champion).
No room for people having independent thoughts, people being ignorant instead of malicious, or thinking perhaps their own ideas are wrong. But that's what happens when extremist dogma crops up, I suppose. They cannot accept that things aren't black and white and that maybe they could be incorrect. Watching this shit with SJWs and the like terrifies me because it appears to be metastasizing.
It may be bizarre, but it's something that's happened a lot throughout history, presuming one's race or sexual orientation or sex or physical traits have some sort of effect on one's morality. Finding it now it's incredibly archaic. And I wouldn't doubt it being part of it, Meowthkip. That sort of thinking, of focusing not on actions but instead of on inborn traits as a measure of goodness, is rife with problems. And all this SJW/Tumblrtard/Third-wave feminist bullshit is reinforcing that thinking in their followers.

Yeah I've been noticing especially the hate from a lot of tumblrites (especially transwomyn) for trans-men for some reason. As if somehow wanting to go the other way is somehow vastly worse than MtW/MtF transition. It's absolutely inexplicable in my mind, though I'm sure they'll come up with "reasons" for it.

There's even some who get pissy at trans men saying they were born female, apparently biological sex don't real, so saying that you were ever female is offensive and transmisogynistic as it implies that trans women used to be men.

Demiromantic is the same as demisexual - it means "I don't fall in love/feel sexually attracted unless there's a super strong bond and I'm super close to the person" which makes zero sense as an asexual identity because don't most people who aren't asexual do this?
