Also the fact that she randomly brought up other people having sex like it's one of the reasons she's bitter is telling.

A couple years back when tumblr was still fawning over white male leads there was a post floating around with a couple tumblrinas trying to analyze Enemy and deep diving into conspiracy theories about aliens trying to explain the last 30 seconds and whining about how Jake Gyllenhall’s character deserves better. In a film where one of the main themes is misogyny it’s pretty hilarious to see them not pick up on it at all and jump straight into fetishizing the male lead.

People are mad about this? They barely had any semblance to the plot, weren't that important, and only had small cameos. They are practically non-existent. They're there for the sake of the lore.

The main problem is that Tumblr just takes everything to the fucking extreme. Instead of saying, "I would like there to be more gay characters that live in fiction," they take it as "NO GAY CHARACTER MUST DIE OR ELSE YOU'RE A HOMOPHOBIC BASTARD!" Instead of saying, " There are different types of institutional racism and that in some cases certain races have privileges over another," they say, "WHITE PEOPLE ARE THE DEVIL AND ALL OF THEM ARE ALWAYS OUT TO GET YOU!"

The inability to realize that certain concepts are not black and white is what is terrible about these posts. Maybe a gay character died, but it was treated with respect and the creator wanted to tell that story about how society treats gay people. Racism in different forms does exist, but maybe, just maybe it's possible for other races to be racist to one another and not just white people.

The fact these people are so set in their beliefs, without any sort of thinking involved is so bizarre.

But I recognise the username: valeriekeefe is absolutely nuts, and apparently now has some kind of feud with jewishmagpie.

Also she (I'm being nice ok) believes that she is a lesbian, rather than bisexual, because if she's attracted to a man then they're clearly just a closeted trans woman, and being attracted to them makes them a woman. Or some shit like that. It's bizarre.

Here's the thread where the feud began. And here're some screenshots of their messages. If you can parse what the hell's going on here, then good on you. It's like they're having two completely separate conversations.

I can't believe valeriekeefe a real person, but if they are then this is the "all women are secret lesbians" mentality turned up to 11. Every post is 90% buzzwords.
