For instance, this descriptively named photo called "Piss Christ" is symbolic, but it's also visually interesting, at least as far as a statue in a jar of piss can go. It sold for a lot, but that was due to the intense provocation the piece stirred due to its controversial subject matter.

Say what you will about Andres Serrano, at least his stuff makes you feel something. Revulsion? Perhaps. But there's still an element of fascination behind it, and it's the kind of thing you can't look away from.

Just as another example, one of his works, Blood and Semen III, was used as the cover for Metallica's Load. It's fucking gross, but that's why it's so intriguing, especially since Metallica were super mainstream at that point, yet here they are with an album cover that would horrify most people.

That sculpture of the dude sucking his own dick though? That's not art. If anything it's hilarious in all the wrong ways. I'm not laughing because it makes me feel something, I'm laughing because holy shit, that dude's trying to suck his own dick and he can't reach!

So for a full month I managed to make a new avatar every single day (except for one where I was feeling pretty sick). Here's a dump of my folder as a testament to my work ethic crippling autism:

and I'm pretty glad so many people have found these funny, it's been something fun to do while Corona-chan's reign continues and I don't have a lot going on, so it's been really nice to actually give myself something to do with a deadline every day.

My personal favorite's the Japanese one because I'm a weeb and made sure to make the Japanese accurate, and by sheer coincidence, it'd be pronounced "Tiki Toki", since "toki" means "time". But you'd have to know how to read anime language to see that, and there's no other good way to point that out. It's one of those frustrating coincidences that's so great you wanna tell everyone, but nobody really cares as much as you and it's some fuckin' weeb ass shit to tell everyone you know how to write something in grorious nihongo.

Steven Universe has had some of the worse off-model shit I've seen in a series. I can forgive seeing slight differences in style depending on who's doing the episode, but how hard is it to stick to the same height?

You could use all at once, at least the ones which are a consistent size, by making them into a gif with each frame having an exceptionally slow framerate.

Lars and Kirk were very into abstract art, pretending they were gay. I think they knew it bugged me. It was a statement around all that. I love art, but not for the sake of shocking others. I think the cover of Load was just a piss-take around all that. I just went along with the make-up and all of this crazy, stupid crap that they felt they needed to do

@tehpope I've read that. Even though the album cover was basically a joke to annoy James, it's still funny that it was the cover to an album by one of the biggest bands at that time.
