I recommend Norman Ohler's Blitzed: Drugs in Nazi Germany, the author is a dumb liberal but the book has some cool stories about the role methamphetamine played in the blitzkrieg. Like many Wehrmacht reports from France, when they were zapping to the extreme on meth and they'd decide they gotta go fast and that actually stopping to have a battle would be a waste of time, so they just drove full speed in tanks and trucks straight through enemy encampment, squishing tiny frenchmen in their tents and going forward without ever looking back :story:

The RAF(brits) gave it to their pilots as part of the survival kit if they crashed behind enemy lines. One guy crashed in North Africa and his meth supply allowed him to walk for 3-4 days without sleep until he reached Allied forces.
