I once watched a tibetan buddhist monk suck a big bowl of mercury up his ass live on breakfast TV, something to do with Dalai Llama. It was on a public service channel. I was maybe 12 or so. I don't think about this very often but the memory pops up once a year or so.

I saw this one video long ago by some watch company where the dude presenting said something along the lines of "Mechanical watches are a outdated way to tell the time but they are unparalleled as works of kinectic art" which is pretty much my opinion. There is no practical reason to have a mechanical watch anymore, so you should stop seeing it as a mere timekeeping device and instead treat it as a work of art like jewelry or sculpture. Much more fun that way.
