Was doing a clean, de-rust, and alcohol run in the ultrasonic cleaner. Grabbed an ancient pair of pliers to run with the parts I had. Rusted to the point you couldn't readily make out the markings, turns out it's a ~1958 model from a company called Kraeuter founded in the late 1800s. Merged with another company in 1960, which went on to merge with Halliburton in 1998. Threw some adhesive-lined heat shrink on them as new handles; turns out this is close to how they were originally sold. Better feel than my Knipex and will probably outlive me. They truly don't make them like this anymore:
