John Mearsheimer is, quite possibly, one of the greatest minds with regards to International Relations and Great Power Politics of this era. His preeminent work, The Tragedy of Great Power Politics, is both foundational and deeply accessible. While deeply unpopular with the DC crowd, and other western power centers, he has been unfortunately proven to have the right world view a dozen times over by now. The Realist in a world (temporarily) run by Liberal Crusaders.

I am now ready for Romania,.. or about twelve hours in new york or 6 in los angeles.

After his jousting accident Henry became an abhorrent deathfat, hence why this armour is so girthy. Supposedly worn by Henry at the siege of Boulogne in 1544.

The arm harness is spectacular, though entirely ceremonial. Armourer Kolman Helmschmied, who completed this harness in ca. 1526, managed to shape steel into an imitation of cut cloth, a style popular amongst the Landsknechts that Wilhelm von Rogendorf lead into battle.

Oh man. Get ready, because you're about to make me sperg out bigtime.

I am a massive fan of creepy, ornate, historical armor...but especially helmets.

I put some pics together but there are sooo many more of these. Some of the following helmets in the photo are fictional, but most of them were worn at some point by a real historical slaughtermonger:

(sorry for the white space at the bottom I couldnt make them all fit 100% perfectly)

Some of these may look goofy or whatever in our modern lives, but put yourself in the shoes of a regular, barely trained swordsman on the battlefield in ancient times. You are probably going to die, so you are already fighting back an instinctive fear....you're really participating in two battles: one within and one without. You make your way through the melee and something strange catches your eye. You look in the direction of the anomaly and see someone wearing one of these fucking horrifying helmets looking right at you. If he can afford a custom nightmare helm, he can probably also afford intense training, and he is in all likelihood a well-bred and professional manslayer. He begins to advance, so he can kill you by taking a sharp piece of metal and whacking you with it until you stop moving and breathing. The last thing you see will be a warped facsimile of a man's face, metal mustache and all, sculpted in steel - grinning yet emotionless.

I love cool creepy old helmets.

I'm not reading all that autistic drivel nigger, condense your sperging, you absolute retard.
