To be fair, the season of Monogatari that's from is, in the author's own words, trash. Nisemonogatari is also the season of the infamous toothbrushing scene after all and is more fanservice. Araragi and Shinobu is the central relationship in the series and the series generally doesn't make her the subject of the more fanservicey parts. That would be the catgirl the fanbase is more obsessed with. I enjoy Monogatari, but the fanbase makes it hard sometimes.

Can't replace my first love though
