Not only did they make the chief take off his helmet, make him cry like a girl and express his feelings, but they made him cuck Cortana right before her very eyes with the leader of the Covenant (which they made an ordinary woman for no reason.) It's nearly as bad as the Resident Evil Netflix adaptation.
