Both. Chris is 44 now. Most men his age tend to get grey hair even if they are healthy. Main difference is by this age, they are in the prime of their career, and likely have a family. Chris has never come close to any of these stages in life so psychologically, we see him as younger even though he is and looks a lot older

Those dark sunken eyes of his are spooky. That's what people's eyes look like shortly before they die. Although Barb has had those eyes for a decade+ at this point, so maybe it's just bad genes.

Agreed. Chris has always been very immature, making his mental age much lower than his chronological age. Add to that the fact that he has never dressed/styled himself in a flattering way, and the contrast becomes that much greater.

I sometimes forget that Chris is a middle aged man given the antics he gets into but what point will he finally have to confront his age like all eventually have to?

I think he already has privately. His recent BlueSky rants and the fact that he changed his "age" last birthday from "21 forever" to "24 forever" plus Flutter seemingly "breaking up" with him (when she likely was never his girlfriend) and his whole "redemption arc" that he has recently started seem to be signs of a midlife crisis. He knows that he is likely more than halfway through life, possibly even two thirds. Remember Bob died at 84 and Chris is more than halfway to getting to that age while being considerably unhealthier than Bob was at his age (around 1971-72 when processed food was still pretty uncommon). Remember that Bob had him at 54, and probably had higher levels of testosterone than Chris does today (almost non-existent), despite him being a decade younger than that.

My conclusion is that he now looks back at the classic era (2007 - 2011) the same way that he looked back at high school back then: a better time with missed opportunities.

It's insane to think this is a midlife crisis when most men who go through it usually try to go to the gym, dress younger, get a sports car, try and date a younger women, etc ... But since Chris is so immature, what age is he going to mentally attempt to go back to?

It's a very different midlife crisis to most. Most men who have this kind of crisis tend to get it a bit later in their 50s when their children have grown up, they don't have long left until retirement and they look back thinking that they already have done everything that they were meant to do.

Chris is kind of the opposite in that his life is not just about missed opportunities or arrested development but that he has absolutely nothing to show for his life in his 44 years. No long-term career, no romantic relationship short or long term, no life skills, little to no independence, no children, no travel arc (except for Finland last year which was mostly/fully funded by Praetor/Flutter). He has nothing to show for it except for a huge online collection of every single one of his failures, which anyone can access with a simple query on a search engine.

And his only real solution now which he still refuses to accept is not rebuilding himself or attempting any of the traditional milestones of life he wants, but harm reduction and safety

I wouldn't say that with 100% certainty.

Chris has done more extreme things in the past (I.E. knifed his own taint, twice) to try and force reality to making him into something he isn't and never will be.

Could he be trying to pull another Harmonycon 2026 stunt? Possibly. But I also have to wonder if he isn't planning on trying to use this costume to establish that HE is CPU Blue Heart in reality, thus the legal corporate entity has to change the actual CPU Blue Heart.

If he is going to another con, then he clearly hasn't learnt his lesson from Animate Raleigh or HarmonyCon, which is more likely than not for Chris.

If true, my prediction is that he's looking for another gal-pal there after losing Flutter. I don't think he really believes in any of the polyamorous marriage bs that the Idea Guys tricked him into believing, at least not nearly as much as he did pre jail. We might be looking at a Love Quest 2.0 starting aged 44 and with a lot more baggage and history than the original Love Quest.

Or maybe I'm just too optimistic

Incorrect. Flutter only contacted Chris for the first time when he was IN jail, for raping his mother.
