Y'all know how whenever you've been fasting since 4 am and can't eat or drink anything till the sun sets so you get delirious and pull some crazy shit that kills a lot of people and then get surprised when a Welshman drives a van through a crowd of people you know because of your shit? Well Muslims do that around this time of the year and this thread is to chronicle any shitstorms that pop up, since we all know Ramadan is that time when the need to Snackbar intensifies.

Ramadan is determined by a lunar calendar, while I think the Gregorian calendar (the one that's become standard now, or at least a slightly modified one) is solar. So it's not the same date every year.

It’s based on a lunar calendar so it slowly rotates through the year. I remember when I was working at a craft store and helping a woman get some kind of craft for all multicultural winter celebrations for kids and she asked me what I would suggest for Ramadan. I remembered that, while Ramadan had been near Christmas the year before, it had happened back around Halloween that year and pointed it out. She got a deer in the headlights look of “oh crap, i failed at diversity”.

I wonder if Christianity decided to more or less stick to a solar calendar because Catholism took root early in Europe where there’s a greater change of seasons, or because they did their best to coopt pagan rituals which were strongly tied to the solstices and equinoxes?

I think it's a little bit of column a and a little bit of column b.
Lunar calendars are found in societies that live where there is little seasonal change that affects the sunlight in the day. As a result, they use the moon to count for one month, with a leap month called an "intercalary" month to compensate. Other places use the solar calendar when the amount of daylight changes, as then you can tell when it would loop back to one month. More information:

As for Christianity sticking to a solar calendar, I think it's more of the other way around (after all, the place where Christianity originated used a lunar calendar). In that, the people who used a solar calendar lived in Europe, and so when they converted they just kept the same holidays; one of the major ways Catholics influenced non-Christians into converting was to "re-interpret" their events as being Christian. I feel like I need to offer an explanation as to why there's so much terrorism during Ramadan, as most people have no idea. Muslims believe that, during Ramadan, your brownie points are doubled; in other words, your heavenly rewards for doing good deeds during Ramadan are multiplied. To ISIS and other terrorist groups, killing infidels (non-Muslims and the "wrong" type of Muslims) is a deed that already nets you great heavenly rewards (as the whole "72 virgins" thing attests to). So killing infidels during Ramadan will give you even more heavenly rewards (so, like... 144 virgins).

The thing is, fighting during the holy months is against what Mohammad said,

“Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them,
and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush...” Koran 9:5

I don’t know how they went from no fighting during holy months to double exp time.

Reminds me, I think a few days ago, an entire family in Indonesia decided to suicide bomb a church together (or at least the kids are dragged along). Say what you will about blowing yourself up, but you have to be practically Nick Bate level of sick fuck to bring your kids into the picture.

I suppose it just goes to show how much they despise the non-believer... *sigh*

They also like to use mentally slow individuals for the suicide bombings because less questions as to why they're blowing themselves up.

First up, Denmark Minister calls fasting Muslims "a danger".

Her husband, a fucking based fag bashing white male, was not present.
