I can't be the only who plays this game. The gameplay is a near copy paste of CS:GO but when you actually start playing it becomes very much its own thing. A lot of new content has come out especially with new operators and new maps. The servers can be an issue though and I feel like creating overlapping operators is not a good design philosophy imo. I like the new map though, has some fun elements to it. Anyway who else plays this?

I hear a lot of people playing this game but I haven't played Rainbow Six since Vegas 2

I liked Vegas 2 but ended up getting on the COD train not long after that.

It's pretty fun for a casual night with some beers, really good sound design too. I prefer it to CS mostly because it's got a slower, more deliberate pace and the operator gadgets and destructible environments mean it's not the same 2 or 3 meta rushes every map. Also because you aren't getting screamed at by 14 year old kids or russians.

Just a shame it's tied to ubisoft and their fetish for servers built with plywood and duct tape by Slovenians in 1990.

That said wtf is the thread title.

Yeah the pacing and atmosphere make Siege stand out, which is why I love it.

Eurogamer said:
Ubisoft is auto-banning Rainbow Six Siege players who use hate speech - and some players are using this to their advantage.

PC Gamer reports that while the ban initially last just 27 minutes, persistent offenders can see the ban lengths increase, or - after a third offence - find themselves the subject of official investigations that may result permanent suspensions.

Earlier this year Ubisoft announced its plans to improve the online community for R6 players, including better chat monitoring. The publisher has now implemented the changes, insisting that "any language or content deemed illegal, dangerous, threatening, abusive, obscene, vulgar, defamatory, hateful, racist, sexist, ethically offensive or constituting harassment is forbidden".

Since yesterday, players are reporting they've received automatic bans after using derogatory slurs in text chat. While the new monitoring system doesn't censor the offensive text, players writing hate speech are finding themselves instantly removed from the game.

Players on Rainbow Six Seige's Reddit, however, are admitting that they are now goading or tricking players into using slurs and offensive language in order to get their competitors banned.

"I feel like a dick, but I used this to my advantage earlier today," said Reddit user, Rook_Boi. "In a ranked game I typed in chat 'don't be racist', and an enemy got instantly kicked because I baited him into typing something racist."

"Had someone asking 'what is a nickname for raccoons' people are trying to bait hard right now," added metarinka.

It begins. Soon you'll be breaking ToS for simply killing another player in a multiplayer game.
Remember when you'd get permabanned from Destiny 2 on the PC for just launching the game? Now nobody even cares about Destiny 2, let alone on the PC where people can be pickier about higher dollar purchases.

omg I’m trying this right now
Edit: got one round in where I joined because somebody else nig’d up and said a no no word. And now the servers are kill. Priorities.
And while typing this post, the game crashed while still trying to queue up. I’ve honestly had a positive experience with this game until now lmao.

This is a really stupid idea. You'll ban as many black teenagers as you do white edgelords. It really proves that centralized matchmaking was a mistake, this wouldn't have been a thing on privately ran servers. Now, without those private servers with their own sets of rules you're going to have to force an entire global population to fit your definition of what makes a good community.

Ubisoft's official policy is context does not matter, and hope their own employees are held to this same standard.

Eh, anyone dumb enough to be successfully baited into eating a temp ban (especially more than once) deserves what they get. Not like it will work for long anyways; keyboard warriors will simply make up creative spellings and punctuation of no-no words to get around the filters. It also only covers text chat, so people can just use the slurs over voice instead. A pretty meaningless gesture on Ubisoft's part.

I tried it with a couple of friends on a free weekend. The highlight was playing Doc and accidentally euthanizing a rando teammate instead of reviving them. I got a message from them shortly after I was dreading to read but it was them laughing it off.

I did notice like half the rounds we played someone would get team killed at the start of a match so it seems like that might be a better place to start trying to solve a bad community rather then people saying nigger.

The bad community has been a problem since the game launched, and ubisoft had zero measures to prevent it at launch. You could wipe your own team out and nothing would happen, there wasn't even a vote to kick option. Ubisoft needed to have griefing explained to them, before they fixed anything.

I have played this game since season one and i fucking hate it. Ubisoft are complete fucking retards who cant understand how it spoused to be played and they are trying to force the game to become faster and less tactical and its driving me nuts. Every single season without fail is bugridden and there is always server issues. Csgo didnt even have 1/8th of the problems this game had.

Necroing the shit out of this thread cause i found this funny
