so apperently, someone on the mod site modland (known for having shitty mods for beamng, or taking paid mods for beamng and having them for free and then creators of said mods take them down) was caught with their pants down, someone made a mod of the audi rs5, "whats so bad about the mod Bom. you pedantic fuck." is what you might be thinking. Well the mod's skins for the car had gore on it, idk why someone would do that, but i figured i'd mention that here.
Gone now with no pictures as far as I can tell, but for posterity, reactions from the OG mod page:

Apparently, the reupload was made by a certain md305/md053, who left a few comments:
(Also worth noting, this site has a nicely cancerous comment system where replies are listed in descending order, newest to oldest.)

Not sure anyone else here is in the know at all, but I'm amazed at just how unbelievably autistic Modland is. I swear it only became relevant within the last few years and has seemingly replaced the older Russian modding sites that I remember seeing as the boogeyman of choice for BeamNG spazzes. And as far as I ever remember, the only things those other sites ever did "wrong" was 1. have a bunch of cruddy mods, and 2. reupload existing BeamNG forum mods and paid mods (and the latter here 100% deserve to be reuploaded for free, fuck that noise lmao). To my recollection it's only fucking Modland that has had literal malware backdoors and apparently now gore spam inserted into mods. What in the world is with these guys..

The franchise's English title was made in a time when using words like "extreme" or "radical" was in vogue, around 1999 with the original on the Dreamcast. Because extreme sports was simultaneously on the rise, this was their attempt to cater to the American market.

If it means anything, Europe did have the first two games labeled Tokyo Highway Challenge and does make more sense with what you're doing in that game: challenging opponents on the highway. But they didn't keep it named like that for long and resorted to using the American titles afterwards. Japan, meanwhile, has always set it up as 首都高バトル, or Shutokō Battle since the Super Famicom original.

So the main reason for why it is named as such is nothing more than a marketing gimmick.
Reminder that Crave Entertainment are the devil and that all localization teams must be hanged by the neck until they are dead just to make up for what they did to the TXR games, let alone all the other crimes of localizers throughout other games.

With the console version of Rennsport out now, reception and reviews for the game have been negative:

Even individual liveries are paywalled, in addition to the very limited amount of cars and tracks for the game.

Unsurprising. I played the beta for like an hour over a year ago, it's really peak UE5 stuff that is graphically demanding but both runs and looks like absolute trash (to put it lightly). And this shit about paid paint schemes seems like a cherry on top, lol

On the other hand, Assetto Corsa Rally (also a UE5 game) released yesterday and I've been hearing it's actually fucking good (but light on content, for now).

I 100% agree, if you pay $24.99 without state taxes for beamng, and then want good car mods for the game, you either have to buy mods or just download what's free on the forum. And they say that they deserve to charge money for mods, like iretr0x's dfa pack (he got banned from the beamng forum and now shills his mod on his discord for $3 to $10 bucks.) and these guys always say, "oh it's only $2 or $3 dollars for this mod. surely you have that much money" while the most beamng shills will pay up front for mods, its dumb. and some of these modders are thinking of adding anti-piracy measures to their mods. like private discords that have a mega or google drive link or even worse thinking of adding a virus to pirated beamng mods. now i like beamng, i own a copy of it, but i don't pay for mods, if they have say a patreon or something, chances are i'm going to kemono their mods. being that they strike down modland pages because of their paid mods.

decided to purchase TXR and really enjoying it so far.
Game has a robust photo mode and pretty good customization options
this is probably one of the best photomodes i've seen in racing games, simple to use and you can upscale images through the mode as well.
hopefully, they'll add the replay mode in the next update, it's one of the core features from the older games and it needs to be in this one ASAP.

If you're that guy who wants to play racing games on keyboard or gamepad but couldn't afford wheel controller, Sepi dropped few videos about it.

Exhibit A: Project Cars (PCARS)

5t8OwWsZwq4.jpg

PCARS is one of racing games that's only playable on wheels. Due to lack of optimization for keyboard or gamepad, using either will only make the game unplayable as it requires tweaking by disabling deadzone, smoothing, etc. for hours and sometimes 3rd party tool to fix it. On the other hand the game is also playable offline as well, yet surprisingly the online leaderboard for the time record still runs until today. Compare to today's modern racing games, PCARS runs lighter which is unexpected.

Exhibit B: Rennsport

Same issue with above, except it's worse due to lack of performance optimization and even with manual control configuration, the deadzone and smoothing are baked to the game and cannot get rid off completely. While it has recently released, it already comes with several upcoming e-sports events that give real money as reward, which brings suspicion if this game is a result of money laundering scheme or it runs by some faceless corporate from Saudi Arabia. As for the content, the cars are drip feed to extend the gameplay artificially. The game is playable online only, runs on Unreal Engine 5, yet unsurpisingly runs horribly even after the Early Access tag removed from its Steam Store Page.

Exhibit C: Assetto Corsa Rally

Thumbnail speaks for itself. The game somehow awful both in performance and keyboard / gamepad control optimization. Even with manual tweak control, you will still unable to play properly on it unless you have wheel controller.

Bonus: Analog Keyboard in Racing Games

oju-FbNT5jc.jpg

Not necessarily to watch if you don't mind to waste another 30 mins about him yapping racing games with analog keyboard like a deranged person. In conclusion, each racing games work better mostly with wheel, but sometimes keyboard / gamepad could also work better even though if the game itself is a racing simulator.

Edit: Bad grammars and typos.

I dunno why but last week I reinstalled rFactor 1 and it’s got me hooked. The sheer amount of mods especially for stuff I care about (vintage racing) is so fucking good especially for really niche stuff like early 80s Australian touring cars. And as dogshit as rF1’s AI notoriously is, there are people on RaceDepartment that have been tweaking the AIW’s for tracks to make AI cars not kill you and put on a good race. I’m currently running the full 1978 F1 season with a mod that has every car, every livery, every minute change teams made between races, and it’s amazing what can be done with this old ass game when there’s care put into it. You simply can’t get that level of detail with modern sims, and while rFactor doesn’t have a fancy tire model or LIDAR scanned tracks and it doesn’t look the best, with all the aforementioned things above that work for it, it feels like I’m simulating late 70s F1, and that’s fun for me. I think modern simracing companies have forgot that these are still games at the end of the day, and the point of games is to be fun and engaging. Having the most autistic tire model out there or trying to be an esport, while forgetting the fundamentals of making a game good, is why I'll probably keep racing rF1, GTR2, Assetto Corsa, NR2003, etc over newer sims.

The review/streamer embargo for Project Motor Racing has been lifted, and the livestreams and videos of the game so far are not looking good:

The devs claim that these videos are "not on the final version of the launch game", but the amount of dev studios that said that, only for the game to still be just as buggy, makes it hard to believe it this time either:

On consoles, while races support up to 32 players, the game only can support up to 16 AI drivers:

I am trying to find an old racing game. It was Nascar racing game from the PS1 where you can shoot tornados and other power ups like mart kart. If anyone can help let me know. Thanks.

And as expected, Project Motor Racing has been a mess during its launch. The newer and faster cars (i.e. Hypercars) are uncontrollable if you're playing on a controller, there's FPS drops, the graphics look right out of the PS3 era, replays are limited to 30 FPS, and the Penalty System is again out of whack as other racing games have shown:

And director Ian Bell is already on damage control, saying that bugs "crept in to the Day 1 patch", along with the "Message to the Community":

Ian Bell and PMR are also doing the blocking tactic in regards to criticism and playful ribbing of the game, in the usual "I CANT HEAR YOU" fashion:

Even Aston Martin factory drivers are talking shit about how the Aston Martin hypercar is uncontrollable with a controller:
