As a Hylics fan, it doesn't even bother me about any possible 'suggestive' depictions since "Somsnosa" is literally an anagram of "Mason's SO" (which is a reference to the creator of the game, Mason Lindroth) and though he hasn't said anything about it, it's statistically likely he's straight. So that character being more obviously a girl isn't that weird.

Also even the male main character Wayne looks more feminine in Hylics 2, it's not just the 'girl'.

The portions on the redraw is fucked. They traced over the original art keeping the head the same size as on the left. Really all they’ve done is make the torso larger which throws the portions off. To compensate for the larger torso, you’d need to make the head larger as well. It will change the portions from being stylized to something more grounded in reality. The left’s portions are 9 heads tall, and the very thin frame pulls this off, the right’s portions should have been 7 heads tall if you wanted to make it realistic.

0/10, learn to draw on your own instead of tracing before you criticize other people’s art.

Unlike neckbeards, Shrek actually beat the system and is an icon. He's better at getting the pride in who you are message across than these bustas.

Even taking altered heads-tall into account it's just a mess, they've put a male torso on a female figure and neglected to adjust accordingly in any way. Even if they wanted a very boxy female there's next to no taper below the ribcage here and that's just not ever going to look right, it makes the torso look a different angle than the upper body and gives the impression that her shoulders aren't wide enough to fit on the body. They've also completely eliminated any suggestion of breast, that's currently rockin' male specs that are frankly smaller than most MALE superhero physiques.

It's just really not very good, they've lost most of the flow and dynamism and it looks clunky and awful. Doesn't look like a slender, lithe cat-themed woman, OR a built ripped strong woman either, and if they can find a single solitary example that looks exactly like this then it's not much good when you have to hunt up photographic evidence to convince people. Hard agree on 'learn to draw before trying to fix others'.
 
r/mendrawingwomen is a bunch of self-loathing women that hate the fact that others look better than they do but still somehow have inflated ego big enough to brag about how they are 'real women' while simultaneously tearing other women down to make themselves feel better. It's even funnier when you click on their profile you see a selfie and its either a ftm tranny an unremarkable looking fat girl.

The best part is when they post their own amateur art 'fixing' mistakes which ironically has even more anatomical errors which they just brush off as "it's just muh style!"

I just found this thread and lurked the subreddit. I have no clue why it even exists. This sort of art is supposed to look exaggerated. You know it's not necessarily representative of the norm. It's just an artistic rendition of a woman, and art doesn't have to be super accurate to reality. It's more visually pleasing to have a painting of an ultra curvy busty woman than a trooned out hairy autist.
I'm a woman and I like this art. Idk why they have to make a big deal out of this.

Indeed, men around the world have alternatively rocked dresses and trousers (and occasionally honest-to-god skirts) for literally thousands of years.

The problem arises when you get a burly guy and put him in a frilly dress cut for a woman (complete with lingerie, as those examples often show). Yeah, much like putting a 90-pound-soaking-wet woman in a business suit for a 6' man... that's going to look silly. But get the right cut, the right detailing and the right accessories? Well, you just got yourself an Ancient Roman. Or an Ancient Greek. Or a Benedictine Monk. Or any number of cultures both in the West and the East through the ages that had dudes without trousers. Or, for that matter, a metric shit-ton of cool fictional characters out there.

I recall reading that there was some postmodern architect who said, "To make something deliberately beautiful is a heinous act." That perfectly describes the outlook of these people.

I unironically prefer the left & I will proudly keep liking that until American comic artists learn (at least from Marvel & DC) learn how to draw a female without making it look like a troll. Seriously, I actually prefer Greg Land & Rob Liefield to these. Just cause as bad as they may be, their women look like women.

Micheal Cho is the only one nowadays who can actually draw females right, the best reason, everyone tries to cancel him every month for not drawing legbeards, femcels, landehales or hamplanets.

Another artist Frank Cho even called these types of retards out, search him on google, you'd actually find some good comic art & his written & drawn books about women drawing & just drawing in general.
