I guess it bothers me because it's part of the whole thing of aggressively gendering kids and grooming them for their fucked up gender roles ASAP. Like it's less the bow itself and moreso why the Duggars insist on sticking them on newborns that's couldn't care less, because they want everyone to know it's a girl baby and to treat it accordingly (so no letting it be seen with uncovered knees or shoulders, don't want any of the menfolk to get tempted by scandalous baby knees).

I'm against pushing hard gender roles on kids especially if it involves punishment, but being open about the baby's gender isn't that. All they did was to give an announcement of if it's a boy or a girl, this very normal because that's one of few things you can know about the baby. Parents also tend to give out birth hight, weight, hair color maybe if the baby had hair. None that tells who this baby will be but gives something to start to form relationship with this new individual because there some concrete features.

You are putting your anger over harmful behavior to harmless thing that kinda relates to it. Yes they probably are going to limit what the baby is allowed to do based on gender but a gender announcement and how they did it isn't that. They just used none verbal communication to have fun because a bow is a clothing accessory that is used point gender in many forms of media. This isn't harmful by itself at all and demonizing it as such eats your reasonable points about how kids are treated in fundamentalist circles like these.

It came up in a different thread, but apparently there was another Quiverfull family TLC enabled, the Willis's, where the dad eventually got busted for raping his own daughters. Definitely sounds like they should be discussed ITT.

Why aren't they releasing pics of his feet and only his hands?

During lockdown I watched some forensics documentaries that were recent, I forgot which one but it was newer technology that enabled some kind of forensics nurse lady (I may be confusing that part but I remember the expert being a woman) to take photos and basically "light up" the capillaries and blood veins or whatever, and how pics of pedos hands or arms in photos can be absolutely like dna in their identification, but the first case it was used on the jury was overwhelmed and didn't convict because the technology was so new.

Also read some headline (peoplmag?) That Jill hasn't seen her parents in over 2 years. But she's not my cow and Derek dillard isn't as inflammatory online since he went to law school.

The Willis family was another one of those traveling gospel music families, and years ago like 6 of their kids were killed in a crash. Remaining family got a huge settlement so they bought land and eventually got a reality show. I watched it only after the father was convicted of raping all the daughters, but supposedly they didn't know about the abuse of the others,but I find that highly suspicious. I think I saw the Oprah interview and I remember the mom just seeming like her head was full of air. But isn't that usually how it is in Fundy culture, that the woman has to act dumb and meek all the time anyways? Maybe she was on par with Cil, IDK. Im not blaming the daughters but there were some weird parts in that interview and that theysaw cuddling of sister/dad or napping or alone in a bedroom w door locked or something and were like "Oh, but we didn't know or anything!" Just seemed really really sus, like they were trying to carefully curate their story as a family but there were some gaps and red flags that were just weird.

Pisses me off when I see idiot shitty dudes become fathers or just men in general that want to keep bitches stupid and complacent of whatever bullshit the dude be about that day.

I've read Josh doesn't want pictures of his hands and feet released, because they may turn up in other CP pictures and videos.

In order for Josh to get CP, he may have to made his own to trade. I read the CP sites do that because if they get caught, so does everyone else.

Unfortunately at this point, I don't think it's a matter of if Josh made CP, but rather if he used his own kids to make it.

not exactly. It might not be that he produced content. But to get content you usually have to give something in return. Hence the hand and feet photos. This would incriminate him and cast no doubt that he DID download the material.

I strongly suspect he's already diddled his eldest daughter, who is about 12 now. The next youngest girl is around 5-6, and it's possible she was also a victim given that Josh sexually assaulted Joy Duggar around the same age.

I would hope, and considering the topic, hell, even pray that this is what finally turns his family against him. But even if the prosecution finds videos of him ass-raping his own daughters, they'll defend him to the end.

Since Josh has been living on the Duggar compound ever since he got banished from D.C. and ruined Jim Bob's political ambitions for his eldest, his victim pool is not limited to his own children. He had access to his youngest sisters and Jessa's children as well as his own on a daily basis.

And Anna is still bringing their children to him to be molested. There's been no change to the court order that allows him to see his children with useless, spineless Anna present.
