Either way, grooming little girls to be in relationships with pedos and not reporting CSA is fucked.

I looked thru the student handbook for the grooming academy. Amongst other things I noticed they had a zero tolerance policy for homosexuality, and that girls weren't allowed to wear pants or shorts (presumably b/c skirts makes it easier for pedos to creep on them). No tolerance for gayness, but pedophilia is perfectly OK.

That's about what I've come to expect from the religious right.

Anyone with more experiences fundie-watching have more info on these weirdos? Supposedly the pedo she's arranged to be married to is a singer/songwriter that's been a live-in guitar teacher for one of the boys for years (which has horrific implications).

It's crazy how much open pedophilia the religious right gets up to even to this day. It's like they think pedophilia is perfectly acceptable even publically as long as the victims are girls.

You're right. Though the pedophilia against boys doesn’t seem to be as open as the shit they do to girls. Not sure how you can openly arrange a child marriage or have a grooming academy and not even begin to consider other people might (rightfully) think that shit is fucked up.

I've seen a lot of IBLP survivors talking about how normalized the shit Josh did to his sisters is in that culture as well. Like they didn't even realize how messed up it was til the escaped since that was just what older brothers (and other male relatives) did to girls in their families.

Not that there isn't tons of CSA against boys as well, it just seems like they're less open about it as they are about creeping on little girls.

You know, aside from the Ken Hamm garbage, that's a pretty legit homeschool ciriculum. Teaching them things they'll need to do first and then everything later, but everything on that list should be much earlier.
For a 17 year old, fuck even 16, they could be learning some government stuff and then taxes, balancing a checkbook (even if they don't use a check, it's a good way to make you aware of what you have. If it's right there you're more likely to check it) etc.
Why is she only *now* learning cooking?
I also understand the "hours" of free time, but how much are we talking, 3 spread out? An entire afternoon consecuatively? A 17 year old doesn't need recess. I'm kinda surprised she isn't learning sewing instead.

Persorally, I wouldn't trust the goverment education of people that think arranging a marriage between a 17 year-old and a 30-something is an ok thing to do.

I'd imagine it's mostly REEEEEEEing that the government exists and prevents them from marrying her off at 10, and shit like that.

Not sure this belongs in this thread (the family apparently has a decently large number of kids (6), but don’t really seem affiliated with the rest of this community afaik), but I thought I’d share regardless:

Over in the Guntiverse, a few new faces have shown up that are interesting to say the least. here is a direct link to the thread OP since it is really informative and I recommend you read it(sneed link)
but here is a brief summary:
-Ben Thorp is some type of tradcath grifter who has a bizarre pseudo-incestuous relationship with his daughter, Grace Thorp.
-Grace Thorp is currently the broken daddy-issues truffle that Ethan “The Gunt” Ralph has sniffed out, and is trying to get to replace Amanda “Pantsu” Morris, the horse that has fled his stable.
-just as an example of what I mean by “pseudo-incestuous relationship” apparently Ben has made Grace put on lingerie and do a “sexy dance”.
-there is also a feud going on between Ben & Grace and America First/Nick Fuentes, which is presumably tearing Ralph’s allegiances between the only major online faction/person that doesn’t yet treat him as a laughingstock, and his next best chance to get pussy.

I'd say that counts since there's a big overlap between the beliefs and problems of tradcath grifter types and quiverfull evangelicals. Including creepy incestuous father/daughter relationships (purity balls, anyone?).

Then again, most Protestant fundies hate Catholics. Remember those anti-Catholic Chick Tracts?

That's a good point, but I think tradCath whackos have enough overlap with the beliefs of Evangelical fundies that they're worth discussing. That or we need a separate thread for tradCath LARPers/grifters.

In other news, Karissa apparently had another miscarriage

Yes Karissa, many people who are products of toxic/abusive families do wish they were never born. If you care so much about your kids, act like it and stop neglecting them to the point they end up in the ICU

Also there was a grifting for Jesus event recently that sounds relevant to this thread

She found out that she was pregnant Monday, then "miscarried" Friday? I reading that right? We all know these quiverfull start testing the day of whenever their period is supposed to start. assuming she tested on her 28th day (or whatever her cycle is) she was just 5 days late... thats not a miscarriage, thats just a late period. (Which is totally normal if you have been pregnant for multiple times, your cycle gets alittle wacky) Even if I gave her the benefit of the doubt, this was a chemical pregnancy at best..

Wouldn't be the first time a fundie treated a late period like a miscarriage. JillRod pulled the same shit earlier this year (she likely got a positive pregnancy test due to menopause hormone fluctuations, not because she's been pregnant recently).

Theres also the wonderful PPA, post partum anxiety. When I had my first boy, I developed this and it was absolute hell. I was convinced something terrible and irrational would happen to my baby and he would die. I couldn't even let anyone else hold my baby because I had convinced myself they would drop him (intentionally, of course) and his head would shatter. And of course, because I didnt trust anyone to watch or hold my baby, I was doubly exhuasted because I was scared to ask family members for help while I was recovering from post partum issues.

I don't wish any of the Post Partum spectrum disorders on anyone, even the narcs. And I really wish there wasnt a stigma on getting help if you need it. Pregnancy hormones really can wreak havoc on your mind.

Hormones fuck you a ton. I ended up at my parents with my newborn whilst husband worked his notice as the health visitor told me I couldn't be alone just in case. And I'm still fucked by it now...

Girls are seen as basically nothing. Just a cow to breed, look after the kids, fulfil wifely duties and take abuse. They get them early so they don't see it as anything different.

With boys, it's the whole pederasty through history, that in some cultures it was supposedly more acceptable as they couldn't have babies.

JillRod, is, luckily for the world, near that age where menopause is your first though when missing a period, not pregnancy.

I thought Quiverfull meant it would take an entire quiver full of arrows to kill one of their families. Ooops

Well, you're not wrong!

Article from 2017 about the problems with grooming/child marriage amongst evangelical christians

In other news, FundieSnarkUncensored introduced me to this insane trad LARPer that's basically if FitVeganGinger went the tradwife route instead of the regressed anachan/munchie route

I have no idea why she's heiling Hitler while staring into the sun for Jesus
Kelly Havens...she's not as bad as some of the others, but still a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket.
Does she still keep her pantry items in her bathroom?

Does she still keep her pantry items in her bathroom?

She does, because her husband is never going to finish renovating that house.

For anyone not familiar with Kelly Havens: she had a reasonably normal upbringing and went to college. She fancies herself a writer and photographer; Reddit found old Flickr albums of her circa-college work. It was all very dramatic and angsty, including a lot of photos that hinted at an eating disorder (which I think she still has, but that's getting ahead of myself). She didn't feel she fit in at college and admits to searching for something that was missing. During a tear-filled random drive, she found a little church and her future husband. She then overhauled her entire identity and became a tradwife who like to pretend she lives in a Little House on the Prairie world. She pretends the house is out in the country, but it's actually right in the middle of the city, gas stations, fast food, and all.

They have a house that they're supposedly renovating, but it's taking forever, and very little is habitable. The husband seldom seems to work on the renovations, and he does have a regular day job. Kelly takes carefully posed shots that show her prairie aesthetic, but something is usually just plain weird about them. She's also famous for having a health hazard (often an unattended candle) in pretty much every photo and also for having the clicker visible in her hand. I personally love her little photoshoots, because they only get weirder the longer you look at them.

She and her husband (Levi) have two children, both sons. I think God supposedly told her that she was going to have a dozen boys (I might have the number wrong), but that hasn't happened yet. She appears to have trouble getting pregnant, and my personal suspicion is female athlete triad or similar. She appears to have a past history of anorexia and still seems to skimp on her food (oh, her cooking is also hilariously bad). She also was and remains an avid runner.

In short, she has a really odd origin story and appears to spend all day creating photoshoots, playing dress-up, and writing extraordinarily flowery captions on Instagram. She also gets really Freudian and seems unaware of how weirdly sexual her writing is.

I like to imagine that the neighbors sit on their porch and just watch the madness unfold.

Does good fundie cooking exist?
Not that I'm aware. Makes sense because most of it is either done by insane women or 8 year-olds who had the misfortune of being born the eldest girl.

Speaking of 8 year-old girls, a former pastor was recently charged with killing an 8 year-old girl in the 70s. He was the pastor at a church she was attending Bible camp at, and supposedly molested other girls.

A former chair for Pro-life Alabama
was also arrested recently for child molestation.
