Yeah I don't think Andrea Yates can be compared to JillRod types because she was legitimately, severely mentally ill and killed her kids because she was convinced it was the only way to save them from burning in hell for eternity. I think her situation is more akin to if she was an epileptic who was forced off her meds so her husband could use her as a broodmare who then has a seizure while driving&got in a crash that killed all her kids.

Whatever happened to Rusty anyway? I feel like that case is pretty on topic for this thread, considering him wanting to use her a combo broodmares/bangmaid because jesus against her doctors orders and everything

As of 2020: Remarried in 2006 (Divorce to Andrea finalized in 2004; Marriage #2 ended in divorce sometime after 2015) with 2 stepkids and 12 year old.

The tragedy was compounded because Rusty wasn’t charged with child endangerment and anything else prosecutors could make stick.
I wonder if he could've been charged with something related to medical negligence of a vulnerable adult? He was basically the caregiver of his severely mentally ill wife and he completely defied her doctors orders for what she needed to stay healthy.

He should have. I remember, this was way back, of a man who did a shooting at a synagogue (I think in Washington state), and was acquitted, because they showed that he had severe bipolar disorder and had previously been on medication, then was told by his doctor to stop taking them a few months before he did the shooting. They were able to prove the man was in a psychotic state, and this was not the man's fault, because he was told by his doctor to stop taking his medication, despite the fact the doctor knew how severe his bipolar was. I'm not sure if the doctor ever faced any legal consequences for it, or if he had his license revoked, but the doctor definitely should have.

Of course, this happened after the Andrea Yates case. But, they should have applied the same strategy to her, and instead have put the blame on Randy, who went against doctors orders, even though he knew how mentally ill she was and a danger to the kids. But of course, with fundies, it's always the women's fault, never the men's.

Not to mention I think a lot of people doesn't understand that mental illness, even conditions and disabling and serious as bipolar and schizophrenia, isn't really that different than any other kind of illness. Schizophrenia is a heavily genetic condition that Andrea was born with the genes for&couldn't have done anything to stop from getting. It's exactly the same as if she was born with juvenile diabetes or an autoimmune disease or anything else that requires lots of continuous medical treatment. While mothers murdering children is usually murder of convenience, Andrea was one of the rare cases where she was just so severely psychotic&incapable of understanding reality that she really can't be found guilty. Like she is the poster child for not guilty by reason of insanity.

Rusty Yates is the real monster in the Yates family and I hope he receives some kind of consequences for his actions in the end.

Joshie's "Rehab" from his youth is revealed

what did counseling look like for Josh? The Daily Mail reported in 2015 that Josh attended a training center in Little Rock, Arkansas, run by the Institute in Basic Life Principles, a controversial religious group founded by Bill Gothard. Gothard noted the program Josh went through involved participating in the Integrity Construction Institute program. This program had young boys like Josh renovating a former hospital. This involved construction work and physical laboring tasks. Gothard noted he wanted to turn the space into a juvenile center, or a space to grow his ministry.
As for the “lust counseling,” Josh received one-on-one counseling to “cleanse” his sexual thoughts. “Josh was put to work helping with the renovations and learning about carpentry and on the side being instructed spiritually,” Gothard explained. This involved learning more about the “seven stresses,” with lust being one of them.
The training center itself has a number of resources, like “child training tips books” and various other manuals. A cabinet in the lobby featured photos of the students at the center. The most recent photos were from 2003. The lobby of the training center had ornate furniture, tables, and lamps atop a red velvet carpet.

Amy King is a liar apparently
Local cow katie joy without a crystal ball shared texts messages from her texts with Amy King and that Amy made shit up about Jana falling asleep and the child wanddering outside that resulted in Jana's conviction for child endangerment. I know Amys got her fans here and Katie Joy is always digging up shit on the duggars. I lump Amy with the rest of the duggar women: Bimbos. Amy wants to stay relevant and she loves commenting on her cousins' drama, so if true, it doesn't surprise me.

No wonder the duggars don't like her, outside of the fact that amys mom is apparently responsible (via negligence) for grandma duggars drownng in the pool, as apparently she wasn't supposed to be left alone. Jimboob won't talk to his sister since the funeral.

Ah yes, the perfect way to correct a child molester's behavior and pathology, carpentry and being told "molesting little girls falls under the category of Lust, so therefore, that's a no-no. And "seven stresses"?? I thought it was called "Seven Deadly Sins"? I guess it's only a sin if you're a woman or an unbeliever.

Anecdotally, I have read that when doctors get Andrea's meds adjusted properly, they have to tell her again why she's in prison. She is so floridly mentally ill that she doesn't remember otherwise.

I don't care what you think of her, that is plenty of punishment for anyone.

Yeah that wouldn't surprise me, I know it's pretty common for someone to have poor or no memory of a psychotic episode when they're finally stabilized.

Karissa has had a miscarriage. Do I feel bad for her on the basis of losing a child, cause it’s hard to process? Sure.

But she also refuses to believe that the baby’s gone, so she will continue to believe that her daughters prayers will resurrect the fetus, until it passes out of her body.
Maybe she shouldn’t have tried fasting for 11 days without water. She also didn’t get the rhogam shot for anthym and wasn’t sure about doing it for this pregnancy either. Not sure if that could’ve contributed.

Not to be a semantics weenie, but Andrea actually suffered/suffers from post-partum psychosis. I believe the first time she was hospitalized it was Dx'ed as as just pp depression and then as she was forced to have more children in such a short amount of time, it became full-blown pp psychosis, which is much more rare. Treatment is probably more or less the same as for schizophrenia, it's just that she wasn't born with this and wasn't necessarily destined to be this way had she not had kids. I don't think she got depressed until after her second. She had like no down-time between birth & conception. The dr's even told Rusty at one point that she must never conceive again, and Andrea even tried to 'hold out' on him as long as she could. :( She wanted to get better and in another world, maybe she could have had a decent prognosis.

It can't have helped that they lived crammed into a bus with multiple young kids. She had virtually no quiet moments or time to herself. Add the weird "preacher" guy Rusty was infatuated with and Andrea never stood a chance.

I watched a show about Andrea Yates (I think it was "American Monster" or one of those ID shows, I don't remember which one) and got so fucking angry when I learned about the fuckery on her husband's part. That poor woman...he should be the one locked up.

One of the weirdest things about Rusty being so influenced and infatuated by Michael Woroniecki is why Rusty stopped following him . Woroniecki witnessed first-hand what a selfish lousy husband Rusty was and had a confrontation with him about it. Rusty didn't appreciate his role model telling him to put Andrea and the children before his job so he stopped communicating with him immediately after the incident.

Rusty listened to everything that nut had to say until he felt personally attacked by his preaching.

I hope she refuses treatment and dies of sepsis. She's playing with fire here.

Do we know how along she is? I am just trying to figure out if she's going to be offered a D&C, which would undoubtedly result in a D&Reeeeee.

Honestly, I have been following fundie types so much that D&C immediately makes my brain jump to the Doctrine and Covenants of Mormonism since it is often abbreviated that way.
