I really don't remember much, I ran into them about 15 years ago they were doing some hippy bus tour and ended in asheville. I did the research right after meeting them. I recall that they treated women like property and they all had to dress in the way their leader preferred, these hippie harem pants. they live communally, so i don't think there's the same push to overbreed, because the whole community needs to find space for the kids, feed and clothe them. Also, they run baking, coffee and cafe operations where the women work, so they need them to be available to make the money. However, the same subjugation still applies. Settled outside of court was what I expected. Essentially, charges were either dropped or she agreed to pay a minor fine.

She was smart to plead out. TBH, she probably would not have this much scrutiny if a) She hadn't lied to the cops in the first place (if not for that, they probably would have let her off with a warning) and b) pled earlier. I doubt she has much if any money of her own. Taking bets now on whether or not Rim Job will make her "work off" her fines as if her entire life isn't an endless parade of unpaid labor. Granted, barring her being let off with a warning, there'd have been some media interest regardless thanks to Josh and the Duggar Brand of the Ultimate Family, but it is definitely worse than it needed to be.

Iirc they’ve been cited for illegally burning trash in Boulder already, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they did it again and burned down two towns by accident. Jesus would have protected them if they weren’t so sinful anyways. They run a deli that’s currently closed “due to the Marshall Fire.”

Tldr; youngest son next door has secret guitar, hides it behind neighbors shed, husband narcs to parents because doesn't want him in their yard and wife is now pissed at husband.

Not sure if they are quivvy but sounds like they might be. The town itself is pretty religious slash culty, and some comment had something to do with "well your husband fits right into this religious cult, they narc on each other" and will force her to convert her next.

I might have a pl on music rules and fundie churches and history soerging, not sure how much that is appreciated here and all I want to add is some groups have this whole repulsion of more modern "electric Jesus music" so there is some stigma against the guitar, and preference for voice and piano, so the kid could be in trouble for playing a forbidden instrument. Which goes into playing forbidden songs not approved by their group, and it just goes on.

I am reminded of this family , I remember their son having multiole stab wounds to his groin. A guitar may have been involved.

To be fair "Christian" versions of modern music genres are especially cringe, so I could see a paranoid bible thumper noticing how modern music genres mix with Christianity like milk with orange juice and conclude that they must be Satanic. It's probably because sacred and secular music used to have different forms because they served different purposes, but now that churches are less dominant as a cultural force it's almost all secular forms now, cue modern churches trying to shove a square peg into a round hole to be "hip".

The religion in the reddit OP was Mormon. In the comments the poster admits that and that they live in a small town in Utah. The LDS has lay clergy only, except at the top, international level. So the neighbor's husband was probably the ward Bishop, maybe in the Stake presidency, and ALSO town mayor or something like that Who knows what the family's issues were, but typically Mormons don't have an issue with secular music, dance or movies, as long as it's PG.

The Dec. 15 plea disposed of the case by way of an $880 payment, the records indicate. The $880 was divided into a $650 fine, $100 in costs, $100 for a Child Victim Crime Fee, a $20 county jail fee, and another $10 jail fee for the City of Tontitown, Ark.

A hearing scheduled for Oct. 10 was punted to Jan. 10, 2022, when a bench trial was scheduled. While an electronic device with connectivity is a luxury that was considered the rarest contraband in most prisons just a decade ago, the video chat link isn't much of a blessing. During the normal course of a sentence it is advisable to distance yourself from the phone (aka "stress box") and the outside world, in fact doing so is considered the correct way to jail (aka "do a bid"). Getting hung up on what people are doing outside and how you're not around mostly causes frustration and makes the time go by slower. It's also a shitty replacement for visitation, which gets you off the block for an hour and allows you to actually see and touch people you care about, as opposed to interacting with greasy shitbag cons and fat asshole police.

Even the biggest luxuries wouldn't make up for a lack of movement and being in 23-hour lockdown with no visits is pretty hard time. The best bid this guy could hope for is going to a PC or rehab block where they keep the diddlers. If he doesn't get that option he'll be in solitary the whole time, it's doubtful that he'll be allowed in a genpop unit because they'll quickly find out he's a skinner and start abusing or even trying to kill him.

Good. Maybe her parents don't want to see their daughter having to stay with pedo Josh, and actually want her to get a divorce. I think even they realize how the world looks down on her for staying with Josh, and do not want their daughter's reputation to be furthered tarnished.

And from this article, it seems that even Meech and Boob realize that to make Anna stay with Josh, is also casting bad publicity on them as well and their cult, because people can see clearly that women are forced to stay with a man, no matter what he does, and realize that is fucked up.

So, very :optimistic: , but I hope that this means Anna is on her way to divorce herself from her husband. Especially because there's a high chance he molested their own children, his sick urges can never be cured, and he is a defective human being, that does not belong in society. I hope her family is super supportive, and they can help with housing her and her kids.
