I'm not sure how much more clear I can make this. If you get a job and literally the first day, after the dude's son is nailed as a goddamn pedo, your new boss makes a fucking JOKE about pedo shit, if you aren't out of there that day, you're on board with that shit.
I mean, you yourself pointed out that he didn't know until after he took the job/signed the contract to protect them. Depending on what the situation was, it may have been completely unviable for him to just bounce. I feel like there is a LOT of hindsight bias going on here, is all.
For me, it depends greatly on how someone is capitalizing on all of this going forward. The moment this guy tries to $ell his story or shit talk the victims, I will be right there with you. But anyone who is spilling certain types of Duggar dirt for free (specifically stuff on JB, Josh, Meech, or Anna), even if they want some attention, is alright by me since it's another chip away at the bullshit image that has protected them for so long. And, to some extent, is still protecting JB and Meech in particular. Granted, maybe I am biased because I am still encountering defenders of Rim Job and Meech and firsthand accounts from people who actually knew the Duggars have been among the few things that have convinced these idiots. I don't really care if he is a good person or not. I just think it's harsh to go as far as saying he's "alright with molestation."

What I really want to hear more about is the source behind Rim Job's claims that it was "normal" in their community. Bobye Holt wasn't the one who blew the whistle on the Duggars to Oprah, she said so herself. She's also been caught lying about when the Holts cut off contact with The Duggars. There are pictures of her with Meech after she claimed to have ended the friendship, which to me says that the Holts were a little more "understanding" of "Josh's struggles" than they claim. Not as understanding as the Kellers, obviously, but understanding. And tbh, the fact that the Kellers knew and still gave their daughter up to Josh concerns me the more I think about it.
Like, who did JB talk to that had this happen in their family as well? Out of the four Quiverfull family shows that TLC has made, half have had incest/SA/Pedo convictions. And tbh I would not be shocked if shit about the Bates comes next. They're basically just the Duggars with slightly fewer kids.
Then there are the multiple wisdom Booklets specifically devoted not just to sexual violence, but sexual violence in the family, and making excuses for the perpetrators. You don't devote that much literature to a subject if it doesn't come up often.
I feel like if it had happened with the Plaths, it would have come out by now. Either one of the rebellious kids would have blown the whistle (Moriah especially since her narc parents full on kicked her out of the house while she was still a minor) or Kim or Barry would have exposed it in a narc rage since Ethan, Olivia, Micah, and Moriah have been getting so much support.

It's a LOT like the Turpin case, only it was adoptive incest and only one kid was treated this way. The pieces of shit who did this to her told her that it was God's Will that she be their "servant" and that was her mission in life. The father started raping her when she was six and both parents started engaging in fucked up extended torture sessions with her in early childhood. By the time she escaped by attempting suicide, she had over 400 scars on her body.
There are a lot of "lost children" among the Fundie groups whether it's the IFB, FLDS, Opus Dei Catholics, the Hasidim, Children of God/The Family International, Fundie Muslims, or Amish. Kids with no documentation and essentially don't exist legally. And there are tons of pedo scandals among the leaders as well.
I really worry about this because I feel like a lot of this gets covered up and not pursued based on respecting "religious liberty" or whatever. That, and Free Speech laws. I just wonder how long it will take before the Pearls have to face some consequences for advising parents to beat, starve, and expose their children to the elements. Multiple kids have died at this point, and yet that book is still being sold by major retailers.
Obviously there are non religious/conservative cases like this (Moira Greyland and Mackenzie Phillips immediately come to mind for Lib Incest) but this is the Quiverfull thread and they by nature just have so many of the environmental factors that make this more likely. Sort of like how Hollywood has it's own power dynamics that cover up and enable their pedo shit, these guys have theirs. JB didn't get the "it's not uncommon in our circles" shit from nowhere.
