I hate to be fair when we're talking about RimJob; but, he's had those signs up for weeks. I think his whole "I"m running for office"-schtick was an attempt to take some of the "spotlight" off Josh's trial. He failed miserably and, as you say, ultimately just made this shit worse. But, it checks out with his narcissism. The ironic beauty of this political quest is that Jim Holt blamed "sin in the camp" (which was code for JOSH) for his loss in 06. Now, Jim Bob can use Josh as an excuse when HE loses...because, really, all of life and creation is really about Jim Bob.
I sort of wish it was legal to go around and add the judge's words about Jim Bob's credibility to the top of all his campaign swag.

On a totally un related note, did you guys know that pedophiles have a weird habit when talking about kids/pedophilia? While most pedophiles are smart enough to hide to avoid just reprimands for their deviant behavior, almost all will, upon being prompted about the topic of engagement of pedophilia or children in a sexual context, so on and so forth, will begin to talk endlessly about it, to the point of needless obsession?

I love the not-so-subtle, savagery that is: "We have been lied to so much that we wanted to hear the evidence for ourselves..." YES! Spill that tea, Derrick! I'm not a Dillard-fan, but I would totally read ANY book those two write about the last ten years of their lives.

Derick gets a lot of shit and not all of it undeserved, but damn he’s been a hell of a support for Jill as she navigates her way out of the Superfund site that is the Duggar family culture. I definitely give him credit for that.

As much as I love the idea of JB blaming Josh for his inevitable loss, Josh is the golden child and JB will go to the ends of the earth to protect him and minimise his actions. It's just going to provide insane amounts of fuel for his persecution complex. I expect a bland statement to be issued that doesn't condemn Josh's actions at all.

I bet Josh thinks this is completely unfair. He was taught that when men assault women it's because men are 'visual creatures' and women are supposed to go out of their way not to tempt them. If he assaulted them it's only because he was curious and they were asking for it. I remember a work sheet the Duggar kids filled out at the SOTDRT that said when assault happens women are equally responsible. If they were modest, they wouldn't pique the interest of men. It's a failing on their part.

It always seemed insane that the Duggars insisted it was inappropriate for little girls to not wear leggings at home under their dresses in case they accidentally flashed someone but it's obvious in hindsight they brought in that rule because of Josh. They didn't always do that and they began right around the time that JB found out about Josh's activities.

You didn't mention that Matthew/Mark and Luke include the same quote from Jesus however (especially in Greek) they are worded with different vocabulary. I'm not sure where you got that literal translation from but it's not completely accurate. Greek is highly contextual mind you and it's very easy to make errors translating it or understanding it when translated to English literally.

The Douay-Rheims Bible is what I recommend, it's translated from latin-vulgate (which was originally translated by a greek) and was compared with greek sources. It also does not have books removed like the catholic KJV bible.

You could say this verse is meant to be taken symbolically and that say a more vulnerable or new believer is what he means when he says "little ones", or you could say its all a metaphor for the spiritual world. I personally believe it is in reference to young/vulnerable believers, like children or the disabled.

I wonder if any Quiverfull parents had an STD, didn't know because they didn't utilize protection or testing, and now all 18 of their kids have said STD and aren't gonna live past 20 because of it.

Well, the max is 20 years per count, and they'll let him serve them concurrently. Unless he starts a criminal enterpise in jail, or gets in constant fights, or shanks someone, that's gonna be the max.

I'm beginning to wonder wtf was going on with Justin that they got courting at 17, and married immediately upon turning 18. Not since Josh have the Duggers married a child off so quickly after coming of age - and they made Josh wait til 19.

With Josiah, they had him incarcerated in ALERT and courting early because he showed strong signs of The Gay. He actually had a failed courtship or two.

Baseless speculation, but with 19 natal kids and one adopted to reach their precious TWENTY KIDS, there's a high chance that more than one pedo or gay is in the mix. And that rapid marriage is sus as fuck.
