He has until Oct 20 to accept a plea deal.
You're right in overall concept, but the details aren't accurate. It's their 21 year old daughter who teaches piano lessons at their house and lives there too (AND in a strange twist of fate, is now engaged to Anna's brother David Keller. Weird). The wife didn't have very strong feelings about housing Josh before the hearing, mainly because she wasn't informed of his past crimes or the details of this crime until the hearing or talking to the parole officer.. Neither she nor her husband knew Josh, they were Jim Boob's acquaintances from church, and iirc, it was Jim Boob WITH the church elders who made the request to Lacount Reber. I suspect in that fundie cult, a request from church elders is like a request from your mob boss. I'm sure they layed it on thick, too, since Lacount has a prison ministry. I'm not sure Lacount could have brought himself to say no if his wife asked him to, and I doubt his wife would have asked him to, because I'm sure there's some bible verse that can be warped or stretched to encourage housing Josh.Sorry if this has been discussed here before. But when I was reading something about the Duggar trial I remember Josh was staying with a couple after the husband invited him there without the wife's knowledge. And the wife objected because she teaches piano lessons and has kids coming in and out of the house all the time. And apparently the husband just ignored her and overruled her objections, because his buddy pedo Josh wanted to stay. It shouldn't have been the thing that shocked me most out of the Duggar trial, but that little display of casual disregard for women and children's safety just stood out for me. Josh the pedo's need for a place to stay overruled both his wife's boundaries and discomfort, and the right of any children they know not to get potentially raped by a child molester.
What gets me is these are the same people who are always talking up how a wife is under her husband's protection. Not only is "protection in exchange for slavish obedience" a shitty deal, they don't even hold up their end of the deal. Fuck all of them.
They are not really making much of a case for being anti-abortion, are they?
What is up with all the rapists and chomos in fundie circles? Others have posed possible answers in this thread, ranging from repressed sexuality to acting out abuse from their own childhoods.
Neither of those sit well with me but I suppose they are possible. Perhaps it’s extreme entitlement from the men involved, or like the Catholic Church, the culture of silence.
It makes sense why the women and children who have been abused don’t speak out, but why is it so rampant? Are people who are sexually abused as children really that much more likely to victimize children when they are adults? Is there something “hereditary” to it? Was Josh likely abused as a child? Or is it more likely (like other fetishes, masochism, sadism etc) something based on how they were raised, ala the theory that an overbearing mother creates a masochist?
Doubtful. Jill and Derick are still hardcore conservative christians, they're just not IFB/IBLP/Quiverfull. I have no doubt they'd still look down on Susanna, Daniel and the other sister's secular ways.Ah shiiiieet, any specific shit that might go down at the hearing?
I wonder if Anna's sibling that have left Quiverfull have tried reaching out to Jill Duggar? Since Jill seems to be slowly edging out herself (much to Boob's displeasure) and they left prior to 2015 since that when the first Pest issues went public and they offered Anna a place to stay.
Pushing it back as far as possible. Can't blame his defense attorneys, in this case. Late, but did his wife ever file for divorce or did she defer to FIL, and now assumes that this man can be "healed and saved from his proclivities"?Small josh update, so far the only news on it I can find

Anna's fam specifically has a fetish for prison outreach, so no. There's a duggar show episode where they're courting and josh goes with her there to minister.Pushing it back as far as possible. Nope, and she looked smug af walking out with him today. I hope the feds are investigating her bitch ass, too. There's no way she's not culpable too at this point imo.Pushing it back as far as possible. Can't blame his defense attorneys, in this case. Damn that hairline, wonder if Pest will be bald by the time his trial starts?Nope, and she looked smug af walking out with him today. I hope the feds are investigating her bitch ass, too. There's no way she's not culpable too at this point imo.

...forgive me, I had to pull this photo from r/DuggarSnark.
All those fancy lawyers with all the tricks the could muster - the Appointments Clause, really? - and the judge just pimp slapped it all down.Stole this off reddit. Judge denied some stuff that the defense wanted.

Did no one tell this doofus to shave for court? What the hell? He's not locked up and he has access to razors. Josh really just rolled in looking like the chomo he is, thinking he really outsmarted everyone.Nope, and she looked smug af walking out with him today. Not weird - this is their reward for housing Josh: a Duggar family connection by marriage. The daughter gets married off to Anna's last single brother, and they get invited up to the big house periodically. Before they were no ones at their church, and now the husband is buddies with Jim Bob's and the elders, and their daughter is being married off to famous fundies. It's their 21 year old daughter who teaches piano lessons at their house and lives there too (AND in a strange twist of fate, is now engaged to Anna's brother David Keller. The kellers are po' folk. Interesting they didn't want one of the duggar lost boys for their daughter. Not weird - this is their reward for housing Josh: a Duggar family connection by marriage. Yeah, I was thinking of that, too - I was originally thinking that maybe none of the Howler boys is old enough yet to be matched with a 21 year old. But then I looked it up and Jason is single and 21, and Jeremiah is still single at 22. I guess Jim Bob doesn't think this family hosting his chomo kid is good enough for a direct marriage with his boys. The kellers are po' folk. It's a mix of things. It can be either listed, a power dynamic (a lot of rapes are done for a sense of power, surprisingly), the fact that they know they won't get in trouble and women are barely seen as people so who are they harming? /sneedWhat is up with all the rapists and chomos in fundie circles? So, he actually did have Daisy's Destruction, and it appears that he also had the entire damn thing, or at least that's what I'm getting here.Yoinked off the reddit, Josh Duggar's bond hearing transcript. Trigger/spoiler warning, it's about Josh's activities that got the attention of law enforcement. If you're interested enough to go look at it, you get what you get.

I tried archiving but my computer is being less than useful right now.
It's kinda of unlikely, considering that there's one in Virginia and several in the Deep South. It's possible that josh and chris could run into each other at some point if they're sent to the same sex offender prison.
