I wonder if Anna's sibling that have left Quiverfull have tried reaching out to Jill Duggar? Since Jill seems to be slowly edging out herself (much to Boob's displeasure) and they left prior to 2015 since that when the first Pest issues went public and they offered Anna a place to stay.

he would be stupid not to take one. This is federal court, not state. It’s a whole different ballgame and this isn’t something he can pin on another person, it was obvious it was him that did it. He was stupid enough to download the file several times, each download is one count, iirc. And defending someone who is being charged with csam is super challenging because you can’t just say “oops I didn’t mean to download it”. It is something you have to be actively looking for.
 
I thought court was at 930? I can't seem to find any rescheduled time so I'm confused if it's happening today or not

You're right in overall concept, but the details aren't accurate. It's their 21 year old daughter who teaches piano lessons at their house and lives there too (AND in a strange twist of fate, is now engaged to Anna's brother David Keller. Weird). The wife didn't have very strong feelings about housing Josh before the hearing, mainly because she wasn't informed of his past crimes or the details of this crime until the hearing or talking to the parole officer.. Neither she nor her husband knew Josh, they were Jim Boob's acquaintances from church, and iirc, it was Jim Boob WITH the church elders who made the request to Lacount Reber. I suspect in that fundie cult, a request from church elders is like a request from your mob boss. I'm sure they layed it on thick, too, since Lacount has a prison ministry. I'm not sure Lacount could have brought himself to say no if his wife asked him to, and I doubt his wife would have asked him to, because I'm sure there's some bible verse that can be warped or stretched to encourage housing Josh.

I would like to see a study on rates of rape and molestation in the fundamentalist christian society vs the rest of society. I have a feeling it would be roughly the same, we're just looking at IFB though its own lens. When I lived in amish country, PA, looking at the local sexual offender map/list, 80% of them were Amish men. That's not because Amish men have a higher rate of these things, they just had a greater population in the area, I'm assuming it would be the same with haredi/ultra orthodox men in crown heights or one of those communities in Brooklyn. Basically, my thought is that there's the roughly the same percentage of maladjusted humans in every segment of life. Insular communities don't help the problem, but I don't think it leads to significantly higher numbers. I think some people just aren't right in the head and it has nothing to do with upbringing, religion, exposure or anything else.

Doubtful. Jill and Derick are still hardcore conservative christians, they're just not IFB/IBLP/Quiverfull. I have no doubt they'd still look down on Susanna, Daniel and the other sister's secular ways.

Not weird - this is their reward for housing Josh: a Duggar family connection by marriage. The daughter gets married off to Anna's last single brother, and they get invited up to the big house periodically. Before they were no ones at their church, and now the husband is buddies with Jim Bob's and the elders, and their daughter is being married off to famous fundies.

Yeah, I was thinking of that, too - I was originally thinking that maybe none of the Howler boys is old enough yet to be matched with a 21 year old. But then I looked it up and Jason is single and 21, and Jeremiah is still single at 22. I guess Jim Bob doesn't think this family hosting his chomo kid is good enough for a direct marriage with his boys.

And though the Kellers are dirt poor, they managed to marry two of their girls into fundie royalty: Anna was matched with Josh, who was famous and 4ich from being on the teevee AND was being set up for a cushy life as a Washington insider. Priscilla was matched with IBLP royalty David Waller, who is basically on track to be the new leader. The Kellers might be poor, but the father weaves a pretty good web of connections in their world.

It's a mix of things. It can be either listed, a power dynamic (a lot of rapes are done for a sense of power, surprisingly), the fact that they know they won't get in trouble and women are barely seen as people so who are they harming? /sneed
There is also the notion that it attracts narcissists, the mentally ill, and actual pedophiles as well. There's no one true reason, just guesses or theories at best. I think that's what makes it feel so wrong, that you really can't pinpoint the exact reasoning for such a systemic problem.

According to the bureau of prisons itself, sex offenders are often sent to a different prison that specializes in rehabilitation and treatment of sex offenders and there's only a handful of these prisons across the US.

It's possible that josh and chris could run into each other at some point if they're sent to the same sex offender prison.
