The popular theory is that Jana plans to stay home and care for her parents for the rest of their lives, so she has an excuse not to marry a man she barely knows & pop out 15 babies, and will likely inherit her parents' house as a reward for this. Some redditors seem convinced that she's a lesbian too, but I've never watched the show so can't say if that's true.

That's assuming they think one of the girls inheriting shit isn't against Jesus for whatever reason. I half expect them to leave everything to the Nonce, assuming he's out of prison by then.
 
Is anyone following the FLDS guy Samuel Bateman who left the Jeffs group to start his own cult? He's a total lolcow who demands weird drinks and weird fufu concoctions at certain hours of the day (including bulletproof coffee at 4pm or something, weird cuz I thought coffee was verboten to the FLDS). So many FLDS are lolcows. Rulon jeffs hated red so he banned it and women from wearing it. But he sure loved red lingerie on his underage wives!

He was arrested last week, for kidnapping, among other things. Nate Eaton of East IDaho News is awesome and he is covering the Laurie VAllow / Daybell trial, he interviewed the mom in two intervviews. Someone saw hands sticking out of a cattle trailer and called it in, got pulled over, and cops found the girls in the trailer. They had a bucket in the corner for bathroom and the body cam footage has been released.

Part of me feels like these fundy groups are so insular that they would cover for each other, and Caleb probably supports Josh getting freed, even if he’s thrown under the bus publically for it. Caleb is a typical fundy sex pest himself. He’s on the registry already, not for fucking a 16yo and knocking her up, but for actually raping her. HE was charged with aggravated sexual assault, and she’s fighting custody hard. Seems he hasn’t even met his baby and he’s fighting for visitation. I don’t know much about family law in Arky but I’m sure it’s very backwards and allows rapists to have family time, but maybe I’ll be proven wrong. Boob’s sister, Amys Mom, seems to also try to stay in the spotlight, prolly enjoys piggybacking on Amy’s “success” - that narcness runs deep in the Huggar fam. Investigators already interviewed Josh's kids, and noted that they had all been extensively coached to say the exact same things.

Still left them with Anna, who will surely have no problem allowing Josh to molest his daughters once he's released.

And poor tarded Priscilla, if Anna is moving in with all seven of her kids. Anna treats Pris like dirt, and Pris has six kids of her own she's supposed to be homeschooling. Maybe David brought Anna on board to do the homeschooling, as it's clearly beyond poor Pris and David has his hands full as the new IBLP leader.

It looks like the Law & Crime Network on YouTube is going to keep up coverage on this. If you want to see brainwashing in action, then this is the video for you. The older girls are utterly brainwashed. It's heartbreaking footage. It really drives home how utterly young the youngest girls are when you see how the police speak to them. The moment that gets me is when the officer flips over his pad and has the youngest write her name, telling her that she gets a whole page to herself to write it. It's probably the first time that she's ever gotten anything entirely to herself, and it's a page in an officer's pad. Something about seeing this total stranger speak to them like the children they actually are is just so poignant.

Bateman's thing seems to be being a prophet and a pedophile, pretty much. I have a feeling religion is very much secondary.

Yeah religious fundies of all stripes don't treat girls as children so much as maids/nannies and future broodsows. Disturbing but not surprising this nonce was trying to traffick/marry girls as young as 11.

Also disturbing and telling they couldn't even get a van to haul the kids around and just had them shoved in a trailer with some chairs and a bucket as a toilet. How long were those girls in there before they got pulled over?

I hope the girls are safe now and getting legal, medical, and psychological help.
 
Apparently people ganged up on Jessa Duggar on twitter bc she had a d&c bc her baby died in her womb but didn't come out on its own. An OB-GYN youtuber just made a pretty good video on it. I bet it's mostly reddit abortion spergs who made a big deal of this. They're trying to make a political point and make her seem like a hypocrite for getting a d&c, even though it's a normal treatment for miscarriage. They're all like "CALL IT AN ABORTION!"

I have never understood their stance on this either.

The actual procedure for a d&c and abortion use the same tools and techniques, yes. But, in a d&c the baby has died. There is no heartbeat. The patient is not terminating life. The fetus has simply failrd to pass on its own or in a timely manner. This is known as a "missed miscarriage". Sometimes doctors are able to give a pill to induce contractions and allow the women another chance to pass the fetal tissue but the longer dead tissue remains in the woman, the higher the chance the woman may get an infection, go septic, and literally runs a very high risk of dying.

It absolutely boggles the mind that right wingers consider these two things the same thing.

Pl but i know someone who lives in texas who recently suffered a miscarriage. Her obgyn confirmed there was no heartbeat, and her hcg hormones had already dropped. The obgyn had to turn the patient back home to try to pass the baby on her own for 2 weeks before she could legally perform a d&c because at that point the state of texas could consider it a life threatening scenario due to sepsis. Its some bizzaro world, hand maiden tale shit going on down there.

A few weeks ago, one of the Rodlets expressed that he was glad PRECIOUS MAHMO “took pain patiently” because now they’ll get to meet the miscarriage in Heaven. I assume that means Li’l Embryo would go straight to Hell if she had a D&C.

A miscarriage is also known as a spontaneous abortion, a maybe miscarriage is a threatened abortion. (Maybe meaning you are showing signs that it may happen, or it may not).

But again, in this case, the baby had died in utero and because of modern medicine, many lives are saved. Jessa would have died if this had been in the 1800s. Mortality rate prior to vaccines, d and c’s etc for both babies/children as well as mothers was very high.

I wish they applied their fundie logic both ways and took the miscarriage and her body’s refusal to expel the fetus as a sign that it is gods will that she die of sepsis. That D&C thwarted gods plan to take her to Jesus with little Fetusphine!

I think this is mostly a clickbait story, stirring up a controversy that doesn't exist.

If anything there might be a few pro-choice people using this opportunity to portray Jessa as a pro-life hypocrite, and hoping it sticks.

I know it's commonly believed in this thread and elsewhere that Priscilla Keller Waller is mildly intellectually disabled, but I really, really don't think she is. I understand why people think so, though. The way these women are taught to speak and behave makes many of them come across speddy.

I'm not saying she's a genius. I just don't think she's actually retarded.
