NBC has released first look images from the pilot episode of the Quantum Leap reboot/sequel featuring the diverse and non-binary cast.

Earlier in the month, the network announced a series order.

The cast is led by Raymond Lee as Dr. Ben Seong, who has previously been described as the "spiritual successor" to Scott Bakula’s Dr. Sam Beckett from the original series.

Ernie Hudson, known for the Ghostbusters movies, is playing Herbert “Magic” Williams, a Vietnam veteran and head of the time travel project at Quantum Leap who using a bit of politicking and his military know-how to keep the Pentagon at bay, buys the team some time to rescue Ben but expects answers once he’s back.

Nanrisa Lee is playing Jenn the head of security at Quantum Leap headquarters.

Mason Alexander Park is playing the non-binary character Ian, the chief architect of Quantum Leap’s AI program.

Caitlin Bassett is playing Addison, the project lead at Quantum Leap HQ who operates state-of-the-art technology to communicate with an individual time traveling in the past. Judging from the last image below, it seems likely this is the equivalent of Al Calavicci, played by the late Dean Stockwell as Addison is holding a similar-looking communicator.

Quantum Leap is described as: It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.

The series hails from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, with Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt serving as writers and executive producers; original creator Don Bellisario is also serving as executive producer with Deborah Pratt, and Martin Gero.

The show is also said to be set in the present day, with Scott Bakula is not presently said to be involved.

Quantum Leap will air at 10 p.m. Mondays following The Voice in the Fall.

IS this a suquel or reimagining. I could have supported it if they were going to try and find Sam but if its just a redo of lets progressivize this and resell it then I"m out. Like the first episode should have been a message from Sam saying he's still alive and leaping and then they restart the project to go try to rescue him.
I think they have said that they don't plan on having Sam appear in the show.

So.... no straight white men in the cast at all?
Yeah, really targeting that nerd demo, definitely the fans of the original will be happy.

Since this is a time travel "body snatcher" show, let's get ready for the main character to be some kind of slave in the 1800's in Alabama or some shit to really hammer in the message, maybe he will be Rosa Parks, he will be some kind of gay character, probably also a woman during 2nd or even 1st wave feminism.

I'm just making this up as I go along but you know that at least one of the things I've mentioned will happen on the show, it has to, all the marketing is about identity politics.

It could be, and Ernie Hudson is a decent dude, but it won't be since it's already obvious it's going to be more focused on woke than the story premise.
Ernie Hudson was in Dragonball: Evolution, Ghostbusters 2016 and Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
Him being in something means jack shit in regards to quality.

Mason Alexander Park is literally the only non-bianry "actor" in Hollywood. First Cowboy Bebop, then The Sandman, and now Quantum Leap.
Yea, he was the one that fucked up Gren’s character so bad.

It’s not like he can’t do good work. He did a great job in The Basketball Diaries.

Then again, that was 20 years ago.

They're gonna leap into Matthew Shepard or to Stonewall Riots.

Let's see if they keep the one rule that Quantum Leap had.

He could only jump into people from the time period HE exists.

So, judging from his age: From 1990 to now.

Big fucking deal.

Bet you won't see him don't any pseudo-Nam episodes in Bosnia or Kuwait or Rwanda or Angola.

Bet they break that rule like a motherfucker so they can have him go back and march with Martin Luther King JR.

They'll probably go "We have extended it so you can jump to your life AND Sam's life."

I hated this show the first time around. It was always boomers fapping into the wind about causes du jour and every time I see a rerun Sam is in a woman's body after she's been raped. Now it's going to be millennials doing the same thing. Naturally my human loves this fucking show and he can't stop watching it over and over. If you'll excuse me, I have to go gut some critical components on our TVs and empty the bank account so he can never replace them.

was Quantum Leap even good? i remember xbone shills talking about it as it was the second coming of Christ but was forgotten as soon as the show and "game" came out.

only reason i rememver it is beacuse CIA guy was the main bad guy

That's not the show being rebooted. They're talking about the original show that starred Dean Stockwell and Scott Backula now getting a woke reboot with a diverse cast. I'll say this: It can't be worse than anything CW offers nowadays.

Man, call me a faggot all you like, but I fricking LOVED this show as a kid. It was my first favorite show, and I never missed an episode. I was sad when it ended. OF COURSE Hollywood has to continue taking things that brought me happiness as a girl and raping it with troons/niggers/woke bullshit, as someone said above, evil can't create. Disney has been pozzed and raping Marvel to death, another childhood love of mine,I won't allow their sick bullshit in my house any longer.

I generally only watch TV when doing chores or making meals, but this one I'll definitely take a pass. I wonder if they have the original seasons on Hulu? 🤔

The real purpose of this show is to have an American Dr. Who so they can show that the past was in fact both "more diverse than you thought" but also "racist as fuck". It will stay on the air for those reasons.
They really want that. But the original (as entertaining as it is) is closer to a whimsical boomer wankfest. It’s one of those sci-fis that doesn’t feel sci-fi. He might as well just been wizarded away through his lifetime lol
