PSA: You're Bad at Doxing, Stop

Second, there is always the chance of getting the wrong person -- Spike Lee did that when he tried to dox George Zimmerman.
Third, I've seen people posting the information of family members (parents, siblings, etc) who aren't even involved in their drama. That I think should be off limits. I don't care if that makes me a white knight -- just because someone's related to a cow doesn't mean they deserve to be punished for it. Unless they're a cow themselves, leave them alone.
But what about finding content? Well, usually it's the cow themselves providing it. You shouldn't have to go stalking people for it. We're kind of spoiled with Chris, because the guy has absolutely no filter when it comes to providing his personal information.

The exception? If someone posts their own dox. Anything posted is fair game. As for us doxing? I say if they're a criminal, someone who's such an outright scumbag, like Nick Bate, then go for it. Some jagoff of on tumblr? Why bother?

So, when it doubt, I think it would be better off not being posted, or go through staff. Do we really lack for content here? Please. If they're not providing anything up front, they're probably not worth following in the first place. There's no need to go and look up someone's grandmother.

I like most of your points, espescially not doxing the cows family members (that's really not cool, look at what happened to Null)

But this "doxing terrible people" exception is always going to lead to people quibbling over wording. When exactly does someone deserve to be doxed? Ask 10 people here, I think you'd get 10 different answers.

Perhaps people ought to realize the gravity of doxing, and for it to have more oversight by supervisors. Perhaps even an approval process. But naturally that will be met with a lot of anger by some.

I'm here to poke spergs with a stick and make them cry. We are not good people or on some crusade. We are spastics who document and archive other online spastics. Everyone here deserves to be doxed tbh

Well if a person doxxes a nobody/lolcow on the internet with the intent to prove anything(eg: to prove how HARD they are usually), it's both funny, sad and autistic. As the rules used to state, 'and I'll paraphrase "if you have to prove that you're better than someone, you're probably not". Unfortunately, some people have not been gifted with the ability to read more than two words. 'And, as such, Null has to highlight this on the home page. Exceptional really.

I said it before and I'll say it again, though: a response elicited from poking is never as good as a cow's own natural milk. That's like trying to claim that lactose-free almond shit is better than the real thing.

How is it we don't know thid by now and threads like this *have* to be made? Did we not all witness the SolidMario mess firsthand?

People do not always work/think in sync with the internet. Although the internet never forgives and never forgets, people sometimes forget and forgive things quite quickly. Of course, this is a statement in good faith, if I was to assume bad faith, then some people refuse to learn their lesson. We call those people who fall into the latter category a-loggers.

'And with a-loggers, it's best to leave them to wank in their rooms. Then slowly close the door.
